I laid in bed feeling absolutely exhausted after arriving home at 3am. I spent nearly the entire night at the hospital and only left when the sun had risen. Theo was a great support for me until Zahi came to the hospital with fear in his eyes.
I was in the emergency unit and the doctor decided that they had to pull out the shards of glass. I was lucky they were able to numb the areas and a doctor with razor sharp focus pulled them out after taking me for scans to make sure it hadn't damaged any nerves.
The process was long and delicate. Outside of what we could see there were still tiny little fractions of them which took forever to find. All in all they removed close to twenty pieces: twelve small, five medium and three big.
