Chapter 17 - What the Morning Couldn’t Hide

Chapter Seventeen: What the Morning Couldn't Hide

As soon as Ryan entered the kitchen, he suddenly stopped and froze in place.

He remained silent for a moment, staring ahead with wide eyes and features that couldn't be distinguished as either shocked… or afraid.

…What is this?

The table was covered with a collection of dishes that resembled no kind of traditional breakfast. There was something that looked like eggs… but they were purple. And on the side, a bowl of green soup glowed in a suspicious way, as if it were pulsating with life.

As for the frying pan, it was still on the stove, making loud crackling sounds. It seemed like something inside it was moving on its own.

Leah said proudly: We prepared everything ourselves! We didn't let the maid interfere!

Lisa said excitedly: We tried new recipes from the old cookbook we found in the library!

Lina said: Yes! The chapter called "Recipes from the Cursed Realms!"

Ryan opened his mouth, then closed it again. He didn't know what to say.

Seraphina said softly, standing beside him: I warned them, but they insisted. Also, the kitchen survived… partially.

Ryan's eyebrow slowly rose.

Did you say partially?

Leah lifted the lid from another pot, releasing a small cloud of blue steam that formed into a small skull shape in front of Ryan before disappearing.

Lisa said: This means the magic worked!

Ryan shouted,

When did magic enter breakfast recipes?!

Lina said cheerfully: Since we decided to make the morning special!

Ryan sighed as he covered his face with his hand.

I feel like I'm going to die before I take a bite.

Seraphina said lightly, stepping forward: That's why I prepared an alternative breakfast for you.

She opened a small box she was carrying, revealing a simple plate of toast, honey, and delicately cut fruits, with a faint floral scent emanating from it.

Ryan looked at the plate, then at the mess around him, then back at Seraphina and said with a tone of gratitude: "I think I owe you my life. You truly are my lucky star.

Seraphina smiled calmly.

Seraphina said: "Just do what you're asked, and don't make me have to wake you up again by force."

"No need to worry, as long as I have a girl like you, I'm very happy."

Behind them, Leah and the twins were curiously tasting the purple dish.

Leah said after taking a bite: "…Hmm, actually, not bad!"

Then, after a moment, she froze in place.

Lisa said, staring at Leah: "Did… did your eyes just start glowing?"

Lina laughed.

Lina said: "Does this mean our skills finally worked?"

Ryan was eating quickly from Seraphina's plate.

"Yes, we succeeded in summoning a breakfast demon."

Everyone burst out laughing, even Seraphina, who couldn't hide a small smile as she looked at them.

And so, a new day began… with a magical dish, a little chaos, and a lot of warmth.

{From the first-person perspective}

After finishing the meal that Seraphina had prepared,

I went to wash up and get ready for a new day.

When I came out of the bathroom, Sylvia greeted me with a small smile that adorned her lips, those lips that truly looked enchanting.

Sylvia said in her calm voice: "Young Master Ryan, the head of the family summons you… now.

I looked at her for a moment, observed her features briefly before replying in a calm tone:

Alright, I'll be there.

She bowed slightly with respect.

Sylvia said: "Then… I take my leave.

I looked at her for a moment before answering in a slow, deliberate tone, as if I were testing the impact of my words on her lips: "Alright… I'll be there. But not before we finish what we started."

She froze for a moment, her gaze dimming, as if she had heard something she shouldn't have.

Sylvia said in a soft, flustered voice: "Sorry?"

I took a step closer to her… then another, until I was directly in front of her.

There was nothing between us but her rapid breaths and the heat that began to seep into the space between us.

I slowly raised my hand and gently held her chin with the tip of my finger, lifting her face toward mine with firm tenderness, her eyes burning even as she tried to remain steadfast.

She whispered,

"You think you can smile at me like that… and then leave so easily?"

Her lips trembled, and she tried to respond, but her voice betrayed her.

Sylvia… I uttered her name with an intentional tone, as if I owned her, not just calling her. "Do you know what you do to me when you smile like that?"

Her shyness was evident, but it didn't stop her from staying in place. She didn't pull away. She didn't refuse.

I slowly brought my face closer, until I felt the warmth of her breath brushing against my cheek, then I spoke in a commanding, calm tone:

"Look at me."

She slowly lifted her eyes toward mine, as if yielding to an internal command before yielding to my words, her gaze trembling between submission and a hint of amusement in her eyes… and desire.

I placed the palm of my hand on her waist, pulling her closer to me… to the point of contact.

A soft sound escaped from Sylvia.

Ah.

"I told you a long time ago that you would be mine."

Silence.

She didn't move.

And still, my hand held hers, and my eyes devoured her confused expressions… this tension between control and surrender, between desire and restraint, was all I wanted.

I placed my forehead against hers, our breaths touching, and my eyes delved into the depths of her flustered gaze.

You are mine, Sylvia. Even if you haven't admitted it yet… your body screams for it.

I felt a slight shiver run through her, and I smiled with confidence as I watched her cheeks flush with pink.

I left no room for words. I grabbed her face with both hands and pressed her lips against mine with a soft yet forceful depth… a kiss that was neither gentle enough to comfort nor fierce enough to terrify… but wild, aflame, hot as if declaring that we were about to collapse together.

A burning kiss… a kiss that stole her breath and made her body soften in my arms as if it were made for me.

And for the first time, I felt that this morning would not be the start of a day… but the beginning of something greater.

She tensed at first, then surrendered… sighing into the kiss as if handing me her heart. Her hands hesitated, then clutched at my shirt, tearing away the hesitation within her like a fragile curtain falling apart.

I broke the kiss suddenly, looking into her eyes from the distance of breaths,

This is delicious, you are very delicious, Sylvia.
