Chapter 31 - Chapter 030: Uncouth

While that group was having their fun; Munzumira was currently using a handkerchief to wipe down her face from the foul hollow blood that had ended up splattering all around herself.

Of course it wasn't just her face that had been affected - that white robe that represented the purity of a soul was… Far from pure at the moment. It was a fact that caused an irked frown that attempted to be as reticent as possible given her current situation.

That handkerchief wasn't normal, though, as it mopped up the blood yet never changed from the abyssal black that made it somewhat difficult to make out in the dim lighting. The occasional eyeball or tendril appeared within its fabric. Although that hardly mattered to the "three" in the room.

"Even during its pathetic ending it continues to be galling."

[At least its squirming was amusing yohoho~]

[Almost would have been cute if it wasn't a stinky old man nyehehe~!]

"I may as well use this as an opportunity for improvement; commit to a wardrobe change."

Stroking her chin as she threw that supposed handkerchief aside in a very blase fashion. This resulted in the fabric crashing into the wall, but it didn't end how one would imagine, as the material splattered across the wall like paint as a human arm seemingly tried to escape. Not successfully as it was pulled back in.

That inky pool slithered down the wall only to vanish into the shadows with the eldritch feline not giving the entire thing so much as a passing glance.

Instead she only lightly licked her lip which caused the crimson blood to be dragged across the soft plump cushions and dyed them a rich red. Elegantly flicking her wand wielding hand upwards as a film of water formed in front of her to perfectly reflect her appearance. Her face grew more contemplative.

Soon enough began to frown only to shake her head in clear displeasure. Moving her hand up to wipe the blood from her lips only to wipe it under & around her eyes like a bloody shadow. That seemed to get some mild amusement as she nodded in apparent appease.

Deciding mere makeup wasn't enough she whipped both her hands out as darkness exploded out from the shadows to wrap around her body. When it parted she stood there in a bodycon dress that essentially just hugged her breasts and core of her abdomen. Leaving her sides & back completely open.

That widened out to become a mini skirt that barely hid more than she needed though at least it appeared a little more modest on account of extremely tall thigh highs adorned in various belts.

Still far from what was seen as acceptable in her current time period.

It truly abandoned any childness to bring attention to her slim slender frame that was most definitely that of a true woman.

Her main dress even adorned with a silver chain that came between her paltry chest to connect to a black crescent adorned collar. Hands & arms adorned up to just below her shoulders with black gloves that prevented the dirt of the everyday from affecting her dainty hands. Heels bring her height slightly up.

Those beautiful locks of hair even have silver ornaments along with rings adorning one ear; mixing with the rest being dark blacks & purples to truly make her wax-like skin pop. Giving away a lot of the eeriness in favour of presenting an ethereal enchantress to the world. None could disagree with her appeal now.

A long coat even draped from her elbows to hide that delicate blemishless back from the world yet still giving a teasing peak at her bare shoulders.

Something most definitely provocative for the era.

"This appears more suitable."

Graceful but playful smile finding its way onto her lips.

[Very fashionable!]

[Certainly cannot say you are one without a sense of style~.]

She simply nodded as she started to head out only to pause and have her head tilt towards the beams of light still managing to peer through the blood splattered windows. Raising her wand to her eye level as she began to ponder. Her gaze turning towards the floating tomb with the eye in the centre.

"Why not become multi-purpose, Mugen?"

[Ara~?]

"Well one such as I should remain untouched by the harsh touch of the sun; I hardly think a pesky thing such as the sun has the right to stand above me and flaunt it."

Now it wasn't merely Munzimira who was getting intrigued in this outfit adaptation - that wand she held began to glow as the book opened. The sound of its pages swirling echoing out. An explosion of potent magic exploded out as reality itself became covered in countless cracks that slowly fell apart.

What they gave way to was a scene that was very similar yet different in one defining way; there was no wand but instead a parasol in the cats hands.

"So you still possess so much potential?"

Her question was one of science however the gleam in her eyes was one more akin to a child.

[Do you know what the difference between an illusion and reality is?]

"Oh, do share…"

[Me.]

The reply from the confident female zanpakuto spirit made her eyes narrow however she did not speak up on it since she was well aware of the ability held within. That was what made it difficult to use. It did not achieve its name through happenstance. Of that she could be most assured.

Names had always held power and the infinite was a power she knew well compared to many nevertheless may as well have been ignorant.

Only one could use it to its full capabilities,

And it wasn't her.

Shaking her head at her mutated spirit yet also unable to refute its bold claims; she could only walk outside as she felt something quite untoward occurring. She may not have been able to perfectly use Mugen but her eyes were a different matter. The stars within them glimmering as she peered out.

That gaze of hers only fell upon that massive celestial cat for a moment until turning to the street that she escaped from with a snort.

"How uncouth."

[[Uncouth~ uncouth-]]

"Children… Shush; we have work to do."

Letting a sigh pass her lips as she began to walk forward only for the shadows to erupt upwards in an inky explosion that completely consumed her.

She just simply continued to walk even as the dark in that area fell back down into the shadows - revealing her no longer there. At the same moment she ended up coming out from one pile of rubble out of thousands that littered the space. What was once a city was now truly a pyre of hellfire.

With a certain gambling cat sitting on rubble.

Navy flames flickering high with crimson string flying all over the place being burned up to keep those same flames going.

Munzumira hardly cared about the damage.

"Where is he, Schrodinger?"

"To use my name… That i~s a fi~rst."

To that a very familiar, constantly shifting, cackle escaped as those metal claws reached up to pluck one of the burning strings. That one small action caused the entire thing to collapse to the floor. Those flames soon running out of things to burn did not so much as exhaust but "vanish" from where they were.

"Ju~st like his oh so fictitious valour; he up 'n' es-ca-paded when the odds changed!"

Her legs apart as her palms rested on her knees with those sharp claws tapping against her thighs - if one were to compare the two cat girls they would think them sisters. Of course the gambler chose far more masculine clothes than the abyss. That did not stop them from visually sharing many features.

Although, while munzumira frowned, per usual it was impossible for the gambler to frown with those crimson threads sewn throughout her body.

"Tch I thought Cheshire said she had it."

"Well where there was o~nce three only us two remain which would mean…"

"She ran for it."

Closing her eyes as she felt some annoyance wash over her - she didn't exactly expect their "template" to up and beat the overpowered bastard.

She at least knew that she'd still be here if she wanted to continue helping them.

"As soon as I got here sh~e used me as a discretion without caring if the same were to happen to the bastard and so we are here as the ones left to pick up the tab~!"

Once more, laughter exploded out while Munzumira cradled her forehead with her free hand.

That annoyance quickly built up as she massaged her forehead while tightening her grip around the shaft of the transformed Mugen.

"Hardly matters I think, her mad ravings would just get in the way, what we need is access to the afterlife in this godforsaken realm and I think you know the way to breach the barrier in."

Moving her hand to point towards the gambler who merely raised her head in a relaxed fashion.

"Oh~ and wh~y would I take a gamble li~ke that?"

"Because he made you angry enough to-"

"I do not become 'angry', girlie~."

Seemingly before the more feminine presenting of the pair could react - she found her chin being pinched between the clawed fingers of her compatriot. Despite that her expression didn't change. If anything it became something more akin to contempt despite believing to know of the power of one who held her.

"You seem to believe that this little evolution of yours has granted you some insight to gambles you are seeking to make but may I suggest-"

"I do not care much for your games."

Simply batting that hand aside as she slowly walked past the being who brought terror to the dark streets of that already destroyed city.

"We both know he escaped from you more than he escaped from me and the number of place he is most likely to show up is where he can have the most fun. That will be where his 'best friend' is. I do not care about any of that as all I want is to arrive in this soul society."

The previous aggression that the gambler showed faded away as once more she cackled while bringing a familiar hand mirror cum lighter from her jacket.

"While you have the methods likely figured out… I have the destination."

Tapping the crimson around her large eyes with confidence.

"You are mo~re fun like this."

Bringing out a cigarette as the flame in front of her lit up her face.

"Shall we jou~rney to soul society, part~ner~?"
