In the central hall of the flying castle, night had fallen quietly. Outside the window, the sky rumbled faintly—the remnants of energy from the inverted dimension still lingered in the atmosphere. Six figures gathered in the room: Bai Suzhen, Catherine, Elizabeth, Thomas Hobbes, Pierre d'Arc, and Virginia. Teacups and light snacks were laid out on the table, but few had touched them. They were far too engrossed in conversation.
"That Navigator," Catherine began, reclining against the sofa back. "He seems too serious. He looks at me like I'm about to blow something up at any moment."
Elizabeth smirked. "Maybe because he knows you actually have."
Catherine chuckled lightly.
Bai Suzhen, sitting calmly by the right-hand window, lifted her gaze. "Mai... she's not what you think. Even though she looks graceful and composed, she carries deep wounds."
Virginia spoke softly. "Because she lost her units?"
