But what gnawed at me most was the possibility that if we didn't reach out, if we sent them away without offering a lifeline, wouldn't we regret it more? If it were me at the end of the rope, I knew I would crave some acknowledgment, some effort from others to pull me back.

"Krish, don't you ever think about that?" I pressed, desperation creeping into my voice. "What if someone really needs that connection—what if, because we didn't say anything, another life is lost?"

His gaze softened slightly, perhaps recognizing the weight of my question. "It's not about not caring. It's about knowing your limits. You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved."

"Maybe if I stay in this convenience store, I'll know what to do in the future. I don't want to overlook even one of them That kind of reason still exists right?" I asked Krish, hope threading through my words.

"A reason huh?" Krish mused, his brow furrowing slightly.
