Chapter 20 - The Untangled emotions.

Ella and Sion reached their home and as soon as they arrived, yet another adventure awaited them. They quickly packed to leave for Romania. On their first day of arrival, they picked up some hiking equipments and followed the long trial towards the Bucegi mountains.

After a long journey by the road in a rented car, they reached the foot of the mountain. They started hiking without a care in the world. Some of the tourists travelled through the cable car above the forests. They reached the Bucegi Plateau with soft meadows and gaint rock formations. The most famous of them is Sphinx, a weather-carved stone that looks uncanny like the face of an ancient guardian staring over the land, a natural limestone formation resembling a statue often compared to an ancient Egyptian statue and Babele - "The Old Women"; rocks shaped like mushroom caps, creating local legends about gods and gaints. From the plateau, trials lead higher to the mighty Omu peak - the tallest in the Bucegi. The wind is sharper here.

Ella and Sion gazed upon the valley below and faraway ridges of other Carpathian chains (range). At the very summit they saw a small mountain hut, that's where the weary travelers rest and share stories. Ella and Sion sat across a group who invited them over. As the night fell, they were batting the mosquitoes nibbling on them, they started the campfire, sang together and shared their stories. Ella's story impressed everyone out there. But among them was a guy named Nolen who changed the view of the world with his story. " 'Turn over a new leaf' it's a nice idiom", he started. As the saying goes, it's probably a good thing to leave past mistakes behind and become a kinder person. Never being in a situation that requires one to 'Turn over a new leaf' would be most ideal. Unfortunately for Nolen, he wasn't in that ideal situation. He looked Ella's way as he said " I was a drugee. I was completely arrogent back then. Oh course I'm clean now, rehab and all.... " He paused for a movement and then continued, "Things would have been better if I had gotten my shift together.". He explained how he felt like he couldn't breathe due to the throbbing pain in his chest, he didn't know what it was.... but as that hot lump of pain ascended to his throat, he realised...it was his tears. The tears he couldn't bring himself to shed when he believed he was the reason for driving his mother to death, how he stole her money for her medicines for his drug addiction unknowingly or how he wasn't able to bear the pain of not being able to live without consuming those drugs, how he wasn't able to afford even the funeral or when others snicker, or worse yet, assult at you with insincere kindness. The tears he held back by reminding himself that he doesn't deserve to shed.
