Loud echoes reverberate through the verdant forest, all the while bestial-like screams haunt each and every corner that is left. The scent of blood and the gut-decorated, blood-stained soil litter the forest floor.
Pius pulled back the bolt as the bullet casing got ejected. He slammed it back forward and then down. He let go of the bolt and aligned his right index finger along the frame. Then he pulled it closer to his face, aimed at the iron sight, then with a pull of the trigger, a flash of light appeared, and a loud thud echoed from the front.
Once shot, he disengaged and moved further back until he passed Peter, who was taking cover behind a tree. Peter peeked ever so slightly, and when Pius passed by him, he snapped his pistol forward, after which he pulled consecutively. After each pull, the pistol recoiled back, but with efficient maneuver and strength he was able to minimize the pushback.
