Those words echoed through the cave, and the dragon's eyes opened wide, blood rushing to them and painting them red. His scales shuddered, and his tail rattled like that of a snake; a loud hiss escaped from his throat as his head jolted to the side, glaring at Shin.
Looking at the dragon closer, Shin was certain, this dragon was on the cusp of forming a Supreme Core. While harming one that is one stage above is possible, two stages is nearly impossible. Especially when that target is a powerful dragon with hard scales and the personality of a rabid badger.
It only Shin one glance to understand that killing the dragon in a direct fight was impossible, even with its cracked core. If they let the dragon escape, its soul would heal itself but remain weakened for a while. He was sure that it would take the form of a several-level drop, but the dragon could gain those levels with ease by burning a horde of monsters.
