General Xiong, still fuming and more confused, looked up. His hand instinctively went to the sword on his belt, but he stopped. The woman standing in the doorway was a vision of calm. "Who are you?" he demanded, his hand still hovering over his sword. "How did you get in here? This place is heavily guarded."
"It was," Li An said, her voice soft but steady. "I came in the way a mouse comes into a fortress: by finding the cracks you leave behind. As for who I am… you know my name."
