A few days later, the group has gotten to know each other quite well. They're in a hall on the upper floors of the castle, and it's filled with paintings and crafts of Nytri. Everyone was trying their hands on anything. Peregrine was molding clay, he successfully made pots.
Quentin and Juniper are painting, Ophelia is in the corner with Tyne Lei…..they're definitely scheming something. Nytri is painting on a large canvas as large as a wall, she started drawing 4 huge figures by a waterfall. The figures seem to be lying by the waterfall and they were huge.
They notice Nytri's work and gather around her, Nytri moves in a trance and a faint smile on her face. Tyna Lei observes it, "Nytri, what are they?" Nytri notices them, "Oh, this is my brother." She points at a large wingless burly dragon with a tail in the waterfall. "And this is mum." She points at an even bigger one that seems to be petting the first dragon. "I'm the one on her head." Nytri points at herself which they had to squint their eyes to see her.
Nytri points at the Lovecraftian that seems to be talking to her in the painting, "This is Old Man Seaweed, he's sorta like my uncle. He's pretty chatty too and he knows wa~y more than anyone I know." She points to a huge butterfly that is lying on the back of her mum, "This is Aunt Moti, she's really nice….But kinda annoying how she reads minds and memories." Nytri rubs her chin, "Everything I tried to block her failed." She shrugs, "I'll figure something out eventually."
Tyna Lei grabs Nytri's shoulders, "Are you alright?" she checks Nytri's forehead. Nytri moves Tyna's hand back, "I'm alright. Why are you asking?" Ophelia points at the Lovecraftian, "That's scary." She trembles. Nytri looks at the Lovecraftian, "Him? Oh no!" she chuckles, "He's not. He even joined making a puppet show with the Azurian. His tentacle beard played a lot of characters and he's surprisingly a great actor. Even with that accent."
Tyne sighs, "I read you grew up around monsters but this!" She points at the people in the painting, "This is beyond insane!" Nytri looks at the painting and back at her, "I don't get it."
Juniper chuckles, "Nytri has some great imaginations." She chuckles for a while and freezes, "Wait, did you say she grew up around monsters?" Tyna Lei makes an exasperated face, "YES! Didn't you notice she'd sometimes sniff the air, looks at her feet from time to time and use the back of her hand to wipe her nose!"
Quentin rubs his chin, "Now that you mention it, it is odd how she stabs her food a lot before eating. Even porridge." Ophelia looks at the ground, "Nytri, why do you always check your surroundings when you're moving? I understand everyone is weird but…"
Tyna Lei speaks with tired eyes, "She's super weird." Nytri shakes her hands, "At least everyone is weird. And these are just old habits…..You pick a few of your own after visiting the Monster Realm." Juniper shakes, "Is it that scary?" Nytri points at her painting, "Those are my family, they're sweet folks. Just stay out of their plates and you'll be fine."
Peregrine is stunned, "What do you mean 'Stay our of their plates'?" Nytri smiles wryly, "Well, they're really big…..so they tend to overlook…well, humans. If you get on their plates, they might eat you without knowing it."
Tyna Lei squints her eyes staring at Nytri, "How do you know this?" Nytri looks away, "How I know is not important. What's important is knowing not to wander off. Besides, it's a great place." She takes out more paintings she made, "See here." She points at one, "There're places where land floats on land and the waterfall flows up." She points to another, "This place has red skies, red flowers, red grass and basically all red, but the trees are pink."
Nytri shuffles through more canvases, "This here." She points at one, "This is a society of trees." She shows one where a tree is stalking an animal, "And yes, the trees hunt like people." She brings out another place where she fought her clones, "This is my favorite place, it has black grass and blue glowing flowers. The sky is a darker shade of blue but the flowers and grass makes it magical. Especially at night when a lot of people go to sleep. You'd see normal small fireflies but they glow like fire and the hop over the grass!" she's excited, "I can't wait to see them again. You wanna go?" She asks everyone.
Tyna Lei shrugs, "If you're this excited, then sure." The others agree, but still doubt the place looks like this.
Tyna Lei recalls an idea, "Oh yeah Nytri, I was wondering if you could help me comprehend more about Spatial Laws." Nytri nods, "Of course." Then she looks at the rest, "What about you guys? You can comprehend laws just by listening and understanding it."
Quentin nods, "Alright, I'm certain it'll be great since you're teaching it." Ophelia rubs her fingers, "Umm Nytri, What about helping me with mana training?" Nytri smiles and places her hand on Ophelia's cheek, "Don't worry, this will help you even more!" Juniper sighs and nods. Peregrine scratches his head, "I'll learn anything so I can become strong to protect the one's I love." Ophelia blushes.
Nytri has a cheeky grin, "Yeah, that's the spirit, Mr. Obvious." She makes a thumbs up and Peregrine blushes. Tyna Lei sighs and locks Nytri's neck, "Do you have no concept of subtlety!" Nytri despite not feeling any pain starts tapping and feigning pain, "Owowowowo!"
They clear the place and make a circle around Nytri sitting on the floor. Nytri starts explaining, "Spatial Law is a Super Law with many Sub Laws. Despite some Laws being higher than the other," She makes a tired face, "They all have the same power." Then she speaks with excitement, "But comprehending a Super Law can lead you to other Super Laws."
Peregrine raises a hand, "Learning one and leading to two on a completely different topic? How is that possible?" Nytri gives a thumbs up, "Good question. The Super Laws are like general Laws, let's take Law of Water for instance. Water has many forms, it can be steam, ordinary water, viscous water, hot water, boiling, frozen and even liquid rocks. Once you comprehend it to making liquid rocks, you can actually use the Law of Earth from the Law of Water. The same as Fire, you can reverse the extreme hot temperature of fire and make it cold to freeze. Freezing is under the law of Water. You see how this is going?"
They nod and Nytri continues, "Spatial Laws has to deal with space. The first is the Sub Law of Echoes under Spatial Law but also under Sonic Law which is just sounds. And here's the fun part." Nytri glances at Ophilia, "When you comprehend the Law of Echoes, you can amplify your energy the further it gets from you. Like doubling a fireball until it hits a target. And if it keeps going then it'll either run out of EP or become ginormous!" she spreads her arms.
Ophelia raises a hand and Nytri gives her the chance to ask question, "Does that mean the amount of mana-EP you have is irrelevant?" Nytri grins, "In a sense yes, all you need is your EP to start the spell and the Law of Echoes will keep doubling it. But it depends on how much you've comprehended."
Peregrine nods, "That's wonderful. How much can YOU double your mana?" Nytri rubs her chin, "Due to low EP density, it won't double much. But, in the Monster Realm, It can double my power by 3. But for you, you might get a 0.3 because of the energy you use."
Tyna Lei looks to the roof, "That is something." Then she looks at Nytri, "Is it effective if the target is close?" Nytri shakes her head, "No." Tyna Lei sighs, "I thought as much." Nytri smiles, "Though it comes with great firepower, it's accuracy in the Monster Realm is greatly reduced."
Juniper is confused, "Why is that?" Nytri raises her hand before them, "You see, Calamities are like an amalgamation of Laws. Some we know, some we don't know, even if it's in our bodies. Calamities basically defy the principles of the Laws making the hyperactive. So if you tried using this on a Calamity, it's possible that Calamity has other Laws on its body that can just deflect or nullify it."
Ophelia is surprised, "How do they deflect something that keeps getting stronger?" Nytri chuckles, "Energy density is high so it's like shooting an arrow through water. It has speed at first but it gets slower and sometimes stops moving at all. Calamities also have a lot of EP, like me. My EP is a lot and it actually makes a tiny barrier around my skin. I still don't know how it works but it's just there." Nytri makes her hand like an arrow, "When energy attacks are coming my way, my body releases a pulse that can reduce the amount of energy in the attack with Anti-Energy. The pulse is also my secret to detecting minute movements."
Tyna Lei smiles, "That's kinda cool." Nytri smiles wryly, "Yeah, but it makes it hard for me to play dead. Not to mention, outside my vision, I noticed the Law of Inexistence under Law of Reality is active."
Ophilia tries touching Nytri from outside her field of view but nothing happens. Nytri chuckles, "It anything capable of dealing, let's say 3% or lower pain of my HP…that's Vitality. The attack is displaced in Reality as if reality didn't want me to get hit. Wish I could control it, it'd be a huge game changer. Anyway, that's why continuous pain to a certain degree is useless against me. If it's like 3% of my Vitality, it's nullified."
Tyna Lei is stunned, "Doesn't that seem a bit unfair?" Nytri chuckles and Peregrine speaks, "It actually makes sense to me. It's like how you gods release some powerful pressure that can make some of us faint." Nytri raises a brow, "Did someone scare you?" Peregrine smiles shaking his head, "No no no, I read this from a story about the Legendary Hero Turi. It says when she fought a god, she was suppressed the entire time."
Nytri rubs her chin, "Yeah, I think you're right." Some are surprised, "Even as a Calamity, I can't exert a pressure that will restrain you. Unless I spend energy to hold you down. I've also never seen any Calamity releasing such pressures."
