"Charlotte, it's been a long time." The guard smiled at her.
Charlotte was both surprised and happy to see him.
She had been thinking of the guard ever since she left. She never thought that she would meet him again.
"Charlotte, I knew you had it in you," the guard stated. "Luz has been destroyed. There's only a handful of people left in Noah's Ark. Zane's siege has been ended by the aristocrats. He wouldn't dare to show up again."
The guard then heaved a sigh of relief. It was as if a huge burden had finally been lifted off his chest. "It is finally over."
But Charlotte thought otherwise.
She believed that Zane was not hiding just because he was afraid.
For someone like him, as long as he breathes, he would continue to terrorize people.
But there was a chance that Zane had finally realized the weight of his actions and decided to turn over a new leaf.
