Charlotte was beyond surprised.
Henry had actually gifted many luxury apparels to Charlotte but she never wore them because she did not think there was a need to wear such expensive clothing. The only ones she chose to wear were the shoes.
A long time ago, when she used to bring the children out to play, her heels would be rubbed raw after walking for a long period of time. Henry felt bad and bought a cabinet full of shoes for her.
He then threw out all of her old shoes and instructed her to only wear the shoes he bought. Due to how persistent he was, Charlotte relented and agreed to it.
The shoes that Henry bought were indeed much more comfortable to wear even if she walked for a long period of time. That was why she ended up wearing shoes bought for her by Henry.
