Chapter 31 - Chapter 29: Wood Release? (Please keep reading!)

"Kill them!"

"Kill them!"

"Kill them!"

The White Zetsu erupted from the ground like mindless beasts, turning into a white tidal wave as they charged at the Uchiha.

Relying on their overwhelming numbers, they forced their way through the Uchiha's Fire Release defenses.

"This..."

The Uchiha felt their scalps tingle, engaging in close combat with these monsters once again.

If they weren't Uchiha...

If they didn't possess the three-tomoe Sharingan...

Any other clan in the shinobi world would have long perished under the relentless and fearless charges of the resilient White Zetsu.

Kuroki pulled out a green vial from his storage space.

It was a test tube, sealed with a wooden cork.

Inside, it held a deep green liquid. Through the glass, small bubbles could be seen rising, as if the liquid contained an immense and vigorous life force.

"What is that?"

Nonō leaned forward, her large eyes behind her round glasses fixed on the test tube in Kuroki 's hand. Her brow furrowed, then relaxed.

She sniffed the air, and her eyes lit up as if she had sensed something extraordinary.

Pop!

Kuroki shook his head, removed the cork, and handed it to Nonō. "Can you check if it's safe to drink?"

A faint, refreshing scent filled the air, like the purest essence of spring, brimming with life.

Nonō's hands trembled as she carefully held Kuroki 's hand that gripped the 'green potion.' Her eyes widened as she brought it close to her nose and sniffed.

She was enveloped in a feeling of pure vitality, her mind sharpened, almost causing her to become light-headed from the overwhelming sense of life.

At that very moment, the nearby White Zetsu seemed to catch the scent of life in the air. It resonated with their very nature, as if they shared the same origin.

"That... belongs to me..."

"That belongs to me!!"

The White Zetsu's eyes gleamed with green light, filled with greed and desperation.

It was as if, by absorbing the 'green potion' Kuroki held, they could evolve, transform, and become a higher form of life.

In that instant, all the White Zetsu were drawn to Kuroki , rushing toward him.

As they sprinted, they even attacked their own comrades, kicking them aside or grabbing their ankles to slow them down.

The Uchiha, still fighting the creatures, were bewildered as the monsters suddenly stopped fighting and turned on each other.

"It should... be drinkable..."

Nonō reluctantly let go of Kuroki 's hand, her beautiful eyes fixed intently on the handsome young man.

Mikoto was stunned by how Kuroki had conjured the 'green potion' out of thin air, just like the strange black blade from before.

Seeing the White Zetsu drawing closer, Kuroki didn't hesitate. He withdrew the 'green potion,' already able to sense its effects, though he wasn't entirely sure what they were.

Holding the green vial, Kuroki noticed that the number of White Zetsu around him continued to increase. Clearly, Tobi was sparing no expense.

Glancing at the White Zetsu, Kuroki tilted his head back. As the creatures looked on in fear, anger, and desperation, he poured the 'green potion' into his mouth and swallowed.

"No! No! No!"

The White Zetsu screamed in rage.

Kuroki casually tossed the test tube, now with only a few drops left, onto the ground.

In an instant, his throat felt cool and refreshed, and his nostrils were filled with the purest life force.

The liquid quickly spread throughout his body, permeating his cells, and activating his very core.

It carried an overwhelming vitality.

Green shadows briefly appeared around Kuroki 's eyes, then faded. In that moment, he felt as though he had merged with nature itself.

All his fatigue and exhaustion vanished.

His previously depleted chakra...

His stamina...

His energy...

Even the irreversible damage caused by the red pill was quickly healing, and his physical strength was being restored.

Kuroki marveled at the potency of the potion and its lack of side effects.

At this moment, he could clearly sense the natural energy within the plants in a 500-meter radius. They were wilting, condensing, and converting their energy into life force, which was being absorbed into his body.

So, one of the effects of the green potion was to absorb the natural energy from plants within 500 meters, converting it into energy to instantly recover his own state and heal any injuries, whether internal or external.

Crack!

The test tube shattered on the ground, and the last few drops of the green potion seeped into the cracks in the stone.

One White Zetsu had already reached Kuroki . It dropped to its knees, frantically licking the broken fragments of the vial, desperate to absorb the remaining life force from the potion.

Suddenly, in the area where the last drops of the green potion had fallen, the stones were mysteriously pushed aside, and a vine burst from the ground, growing wildly.

It was entirely green, with lush leaves.

At first, the vine was as thick as a thumb, but in moments, it grew as large as a giant serpent, putting down roots and sprouting countless branches.

Kuroki furrowed his brow.

A sense of shock filled his mind.

He can manipulate the mutated vine that was created by the "Green Medicine" by infusing both Earth and Water chakra into the ground, as well as control all the plants within a 500-meter radius centered around himself.

This is the second effect of the Green Medicine.

A different version of Wood Release?

The chakra nature transformations he has mastered are the same as Nagato—Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Water, and Yin—lacking only Yang.

Therefore, he can meet this requirement.

"Bind!!"

Kuroki injected the two chakra nature transformations into the ground to gain control over the vine, then raised his right hand, spreading his fingers as if to grab at the White Zetsu fighting for the test tube from a distance.

Whoosh—

Under the influence of Water and Earth chakra, the vine seemed to come alive.

Branches as thick as a human wrist moved like flexible pythons, wrapping around the White Zetsu's waists, ankles, and thighs, hoisting them up and squeezing tighter and tighter.

Crack, crack—

The vine constricted like a hunting python, tightening with every moment.

The White Zetsus showed expressions of terror as they tried to break free from the vine's grip, only to realize that sharp barbs had sprouted from the vine, embedding themselves deeply into their bodies.

In an instant, the barbed vine pierced through the White Zetsus' entire bodies, strangling them mid-air and draining their life.

The Uchiha members stared in bewilderment, their mouths agape, eyes wide with fear as they looked up at the massive vine monster.

In the distance—

The forest.

"Wood Release!!!"

"Another potion that instantly restores chakra?!"

"How many of those do you have?!"

Obito could no longer contain his shock and confusion, glaring at Kuroki with his lone eye, his voice laced with bitterness.

How could Uchiha Kuroki possibly know Wood Release?

This was impossible!

Obito's scalp tingled as he stood frozen in the tree, unsure of what to do. When he finally snapped back to reality, he was surprised to find—

Rustling noises coming from below. Obito looked down and saw the White Zetsus he had dispatched returning to him, but with Mangekyō Sharingan patterns appearing in their eyes.

Some White Zetsus had already gathered energy, and like they were possessed, they lunged toward Obito.

"..." Obito frowned, not hesitating to use Kamui to disappear from the spot.

This attempt to intercept had completely failed.

Until he could figure out Kuroki 's hidden trump cards, Obito had no intention of confronting him directly and chose to follow Kuroki from a distance, waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

It seemed like Kuroki 's tricks were endless, one after another!

As for the White Zetsus…

Forget it.

After witnessing the scene just now, Obito knew that no matter how many White Zetsus he sent, they would just end up being used as disposable tools by Kuroki .

As Obito retreated with Kamui—

Kuroki finally breathed a little easier. Under the stunned and incredulous gazes of the Uchiha members, he walked into the wooden hut.

He was out of tricks for now.

Kuroki approached the bodies of Asuma and Chiriku, dropped their sashes on the ground, then stored the corpses in his storage space.

The storage space couldn't accommodate living beings, but it could preserve corpses, which was quite convenient.

Both of them had bounties on the black market.

One, thirty-five million ryo.

The other, thirty million ryo.

Kuroki believed in making use of everything and not wasting resources. With so many mouths to feed since leaving Konoha, he needed a large amount of money.

Leaving the hut—

"Bring those unconscious people with us and get ready to leave immediately. We need to keep running!"

Kuroki spoke calmly, giving his instructions.

"Yes, Captain!"

The Uchiha's voices trembled with excitement as they quickly calmed themselves and took action.

"You, come with us."

Kuroki walked up to Nonō Yakushi, who stood there in a daze, wearing round glasses and a nun's habit.
