Chapter 392 - Chapter 392

Chase and Poppy awkwardly made eye contact beside of each other, blinking repeatedly as the man known as hector rummaged through one of several massive books that could have been thousands of years old for all he knew.

It was probably five straight minutes of silence as the two of them awaited the man to find whatever it had been that he was looking for in the collection of pages that he had begun to drown himself in.

"Sir, Hector... Could we perhaps get an estimated time of how long this is going to take? That is if you are aware that we are still here..." Poppy spoke in a collected tone that reminded Chase of her impressive heritage, and the differences between royalty and those who weren't so lucky.

Hector began to hack and caught before shaking his head and clearing his throat several times.

"Forgive me lad and lady, I am just... Confused, here girl, could you hand me a strand of your hair?" The man lifted his head from a book and narrowed his eyes at Poppy before returning to violently flipping pages and mumbling.

"Pardon?" Poppy tilted her head in confusion, before pointing at herself and glancing at Chase for an answer.

Chase simply shrugged, watching in silence as Poppy grimaced while pulling a strand of her ivory out from her head, and placing it on the table in front of Hector.

Hector whistled a brief tune, before pulling up a beaker from underneath his chair, said beaker already had been filled with unknown chemicals and was swooshing around with a venomous looking black liquid that Chase could only hope not to smell.

Hector plucked the strand of hair from the table and paused, eyeing Chase and Poppy as if pondering something very deeply.

"Ah right, you two should probably block your faces..." He said blatantly, before dropping the hair into the beaker with no hesitation.

Chase flinched, Poppy was already ready with her arms over her face, but Chase had been far too slow in the matter as he watched the beaker with subtle curiosity and mostly fear as its oozing black slowly bubbled and festered into a deep crimson...

Then Chase could only sigh in defeat as a violent boom shook the small shop like an earthquake.

...

Zephyr sighed, leaning against his throne at the top of Phoenix Academy... The blazing sun from the Pyrothar seared the draconic skin of the ancient warden who had only recently become a king by pure accident.

"Lady Ivy, may I ask why I sense a terrible intrusion on the flow of time?" Zephyr grumbled, almost uneasy at whatever such an ability could bring in terms of things that Zephyr as well as his allies probably did not want.

Ivy was lazily gazing into the mirror with her silver veil lifted above her head, and her eyes studying themselves with extreme intent. However, she turned her head towards Zephyr as if in a trance, her eyes heavily and slowly blinking as the wind from the window surged through the room with haste.

Zephyr tilted his head, looking at the girl with a sense of curiosity as he studied her beautiful appearance, be it her sleek brown hair that fell like a feather down to her lower back, or could it have been the elegant armor that was made by a very prominent member of the new head of weaponry in Solis...

Skin tight ebony black armor that resembled the skin of a dagger snake, with a blissful and bright green energy flowing within the grooves of the rippling armor, with several fabrics of expensive brands imported directly from the underbelly, hanging off of her waist and shoulder.

No, it was the power of her eyes...

Zephyr internally cursed as the gaze of her green eyes tore through the fabric of time like a blade.

The ancient dragon had not taken in Ivy as his seer for no good reason, as he realistically didn't even need one when looking at the small picture.

However, Chase was nothing like Zephyr, and carried very few abilities that resembled his style of fighting or even elemental capacity, that wasn't to say that Chase had low potential, because that was most certainly not the case... Zephyr had once even had a nightmare of Chase slaying him in a fit of insanity, which made it all the more clear that Zephyr did not want anything to do with the potential of that boy...

But Zephyr was not just a being of the underworld in terms of his own might, as he had once not only guarded the afterlife from the gaze of Tartarus, but also had protected the gates from the sea of time in the times of the great war.

Which in case, made him able to see the spark within Ivy... A spark that he himself could ignite.

"Enough." Zephyr's ancient voice grumbled through the wave of energy knocking on the door of his mental catalyst.

Ivy shook her head in a daze before immediately shooting her eyes towards the ground in embarrassment.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean too... I just forgot..." Ivy clenched her fists against the ground in anger at using her dangerous abilities the king that had taken her in.

"What did you see?" Zephyr asked, leaning against his fist with curiosity.

"I- I saw an old man... He was trying to gaze into something, something about that annoying girl with the white hair." Ivy said with the clearing of her throat.

Zephyr rolled his eyes, and leaned back in annoyance.

"Damn that girl..."

Then the room froze, and Ivy remained in place with her enchanted eyes staring intently into the ground below her.

Zephyr closed his draconic sets of eyelids with the click of his tongue...

...

...

...

"I've got you..."
