Chapter 309 - The Grand Adventure Awaits... Part 3

Chase stepped into the strange door covered in branches and a mysterious glow-with a look of comfort so out of place, that even The Faceless man gave him a double take, as his body vanished after the very first knock.

Shifting and disorienting, Chase then stood on the first floor of the Headmaster's grand office.

"Present thyself..." Leander called upon the person who had entered his office-also the same person that he for sure as hell already knew.

"I am Chase of House Phoenix... Son of Lilith-"

"Stop!" Leander quickly shut him down before he could get a complete and obviously practiced introduction.

Chase frowned at his headmaster.

"This isn't real I take it?" Leander asked with an eerie amount of indifference, that Chase assumed that his headmaster had already been quite acquainted with these sort of things.

"Yeah, Ive been reliving my life in a very real dream. At least I hope, cuz I don't really feel like going through all of that again. So I'm wondering if you know any sort of way I can wake up."

Leander stood up from his seat at the top of his office, then stepped over to the top of the stairs, where he took a seat upon the second highest step.

There was an awkward silence, and Leander must have also been weirded out even if only a little.

"You are one of the students that I become most proud of... Do you know that?"

Chase laughed, leaning back against one of the small statues that must have been completely eviscerated in the battle at the peak of Phoenix Academy.

"I don't think you taught a single class." He made sure to point out.

Leander smiled softly-looking down at his own wrinkled and elderly figure.

"We Orion bloods are meant too live for eons..." He said solemnly.

"You and Orion himself kinda got screwed over by that meaning..." Chase said sadly, as a sigh escaped his lips.

"Indeed, I am drained of life force by my own affinity... And my Father had casted his own soul into a living sun in hopes of ending an eternal war."

"Do you know how I can get out?" Chase asked, changing the topic with a shift of dread hidden within his tone.

Leander thought for a long moment, but eventually shook his head with depressing look on his face.

"It is best that you let the dream decide when it ends... I know it might sound painful, but if you are receiving a dream of this energy, then you must see it through. Try to understand the meaning in it, and you may find something of reward."

Chase's face strained, but after a few moments of silence he actually considered what Leander was saying.

"Is there anything that you should tell me?" He asked, ending the silence.

Leander raised an eyebrow and chuckled at the question. "Don't think that we won't meet again. I am not going to play into the Elder's hands, so don't even worry about what I have to tell ya until you know that you are ready."

Time passed on, and Chase found himself walking towards his room, as a beautiful girl the same age that he had been at this time-passed by, gracefully stepping down each step with perfectly executed calculation.

Her long ivory hair blowing with the strange with of Phoenix Academy's interior.

After she got down to about six steps below his current step, he stopped with a swift halt.

"You should know that you don't have to do what your mother says now... She can't harm you under Leander's protection..." He said, closing his eyes with a terrible amount of trust in the girl.

Of course, just as he expected-the onyx dagger clattered against the staircase.

"How?!" She immediately demanded, clenching her fists dramatically at her sides.

"I'm from the future." He said with a soft chuckle, before turning his head away once more and ascending the stairs.

Of course, the dream did not stop. And Chase was now actively getting pressured into a gladiator fight by a sketchy dude with a fur coat.

"Come on, I'll pay you good money! Just help me out." He suggested in a pleading manner, as if he actually cared about Neo.

Chase was obviously going to help him out; however, he was curious of something...

'I wonder why he offered me money this time? Eh whatever.' He shrugged it off, figuring that it was probably just a weird side effect of the dream.

He leaned closer to Dorian, having to stand on his tip toes, since the tricky devil before him was probably six foot four.

His mouth inches away from Dorian's ear, he grinned as he whispered a single word.

"Tenko..."

Dorian's eyes flashed, and his body stiffened.

Chase leaned back, making sure to get away from the reeking smell of wine on the man.

"Never mind!" Chase smiled innocently, summoning his mask and pointing at the door that leads into the armory.

And time continued to pass on within this hellish dream.
