Chase cocked an eyebrow at the young man frantically dashing into the throne room.
Lithica stepped forward, drawing his blade as he gazed in bewilderment at the blood stained package that the boy was carrying.
There were only six people in the throne room in that moment, two of them being the Paladins sent from The City of Factions who had assisted in Onyx on the siege frontline last week.
Chase stood up slowly, feeling a terrible pressure radiate from the package that the boy looked horrified to even be around.
He set it down in the middle of the throne room, causing Chase's eyes to narrow.
"Lithica..."
He spoke slowly as the boy dashed back out of the room, quickly escaping as quick as he could, not even bothering to speak of where the package had come from.
The girl known as Natalie who had recently become the youngest Paladin to ever reach the status let out a strange whimper as she backed away from the box.
"Open it..."
He demanded.
Lithica listened, although hesitantly, walking towards the box with a weaponized orb of light hovering close by.
"I cannot sense energy... Could you please explain why it is that you are all so weary of the box..."
The Paladin known as Veximus growled, slowly reaching for the handle of his sword.
Equan who was standing beside Chase's throne slowly backed away as well.
Zephyr was the only other in the room, or at least that the others could see.
Luna, who was sitting on the arm of Chase's throne tilted her head as if in disbelief.
Zephyr showed no signs of emotion, but he clearly knew what was in the box.
Chase took a step down the stairs, then another, and finally he reached the main floor, where ahead of him Lithica had opened the box, and only stood above it silently as he refused to speak.
Chase stepped closer, feeling a strange weight overtake his being.
Luna then gasped, and covered her mouth as her eyes began to quiver.
Zephyr only sighed, slowly lowering himself into a crouching position.
Chase got closer, as he looked down into the box he showed no emotion as he did not know the man who had been killed so gruesomely.
"My lord..."
Chase nodded.
"He has slain a god..."
Lithica said sadly, putting a hand on his forehead as he took a deep breath.
Chase only looked down in distain, almost reaching out towards the box, but instantly pulling his hand back.
"Dispose of this... Bury it. Burn it. I don't care how, but get rid of it..."
He said flatly, before turning around and beginning towards the entrance to the private stairs that led to his chambers.
"I- I cannot."
Lithica said, as Chase had his back turned towards him.
Chase blinked heavily, unable to concept the grasp that Lithica of all people had refused to do as he ordered.
Zephyr stood.
"I- I will get rid of it... Perhaps I can still send his soul to the resting fields..."
The draconic elder said sadly, as if not really sure if he had that power.
"Fine... Just, don't let me see that again."
Chase said, anger rising in his voice as he walked out of the room.
Luna quickly followed behind him, as the moment he entered the small hallway and shut the door, his fist crashed into the stone wall nearest to him.
The entire academy shook from the force, as blood splattered from the wound Chase had created of his own accord.
"Chase-"
"Silence..."
He muttered, resting his head against the cracked wall slowly.
Immediately, Chase felt terribly and spoke up to apologize before the lesser goddess of the moon put a hand on his shoulder and spoke quietly.
"I can read your thoughts, you do not need to apologize..."
She said sadly.
Chase clenched his teeth, squeezing his fist deeper into the wall he had completely ruined.
"If he has the audacity to send me the corpse of a god... How long until I open a package to see the face of Gemini... Or the seer who had helped me... Or a child that I don't even know..."
He lowered his head even more.
"You have time..."
Chase's body shook.
"TIME IS WHAT I DON'T HAVE! WE MOVE IN THREE DAYS!"
He screamed as loud as his voice would let him.
"That is- Never mind, I believe that it is best to begin moving swiftly as well..."
She whispered, before heading in the direction of Chase's private staircase.
Before reaching the stairs she turned her head towards Chase and sighed.
"Come along my Champion, we must make haste."
Chase tilted his head, still not lifting it from his arm, but just barely gazing at the goddess out of the corner of his eyes.
"What is it that I need to do?"
He asked, feeling pathetic for yelling at the girl who probably knew the god who had been slain, perhaps she was more fearful than he could have ever been.
She smiled softly.
"We must begin with training... You have cracked your first seal and now hold access to the sight of souls, as well as the cursed flame that resides within your being... I think that you are ready to train in the ways of a warrior..."
She said as her eyes narrowed, and her chin lifted slowly.
Chase eventually lifted his arm from the cracked wall as small debris began to collapse without the support of his body.
He took a deep breath.
"How do I start?"
