Chapter 258 - Chapter 258

Chase lifted his blade up in the nick of time, deflecting the powerful blade of The Sun Breaker.

He had never felt more pride ever before, this moment was truly the peak of his life, and that was all he had to say.

Using Phoenix Flare, Chase shot out countless powerful enflamed feathers that exploded with so much power that the entire room quaked under his presence.

He let out a roar of excitement, ripping away at the blade that continued to try to subdue him.

He could hear the music flow through his body, like it lifted him up higher than he could have ever gone before.

The rhythm that he made within his own mind carried him forward in this mighty battle.

Hacking and Slashing at the blade, trying his hardest to land hits, which he eventually broke the unbreakable defense of Argo, landing a powerful strike on his Chestplate that sent him soaring back.

He jabbed his blade into the wooden floor as he came to a sliding stop, as everything around them returned to that same silence.

Chase outstretched his arms, feeling his confidence grow more and more.

He felt unstoppable, but he also knew that Argo felt the same way...

He knew that everyone who had followed him up to this point was watching, baring witness to the grand finale...

But he knew he would need them soon enough, but he wished and prayed that it wouldn't be here.

He knew that there was a chance that Argo's true strength would be more than enough to defeat him one on one, which is why Chase had the Unity behind him.

They were more than willing to take this challenge on at his side.

But he knew he couldn't burden them even more than he has already.

Loosening his tight grip on the handle of the sword, he took a deep breath now that all was in a state of tranquility.

Argo stood up, standing around two feet fight than Chase. Which said a lot about how well Chase had been holding his own...

He had truly improved by far too much in such a short amount of time.

Everyone was silent, as Chase pointed the tip of his blade at Argo.

"I, Chase of The House of Phoenix... Vow, that I will take this throne, and slay The Sun Breaker... Then I will march East, and I will kill Rider within the comforts of his own castle..."

Argo stood tall, lifting his blade slowly as its mighty tip dragged across the ground until it was outstretched in front of The Sun Breaker...

"You are strong for a boy... Far stronger than I was... Yet, I notice it... As I am sure you have heard the saying that ba-"

"Battle is a conversation..."

Chase finished his words for him with a grin hiding behind his helmet.

Which meant that Chase could understand Argo... Probably far better then Argo could understand him...

'A poor fate...'

Chase thought with a little remorse, but still stepped forward with enough energetic power to crack the floorboards below him.

"Shall we show our true strengths?"

Chase asked, as he cracked his neck.

"I would be honored, Heir of Vallmora..."

Then Chase did the unthinkable...

Lifting his blade, and pulling his glove off with that hand...

He sliced his own flesh, letting his blood spill on the floor as he felt his very bones begin to crumble under the weight of the first seal...

His eyes flashed with so many colors that he truly believed that he was hallucinating.

But it was a familiar feeling that he felt, as he sat in a lake of blood.

But this time it was different... Almost... Welcoming...

"You are close..."

That same feminine voice said, but this time, he could see her...

She had long red hair that was tied back, and two curling horns resting on the crown of her head.

She wore a beautiful red gown, and sat on the opposite side of the lake; however, it was quite funny, as the lake no longer appeared to be a lake...

At first it had been an ocean, and then a lake, and now it was as if it was a small pond, like the one that been beside his own in Willowmere...

"May I ask your name now?"

She smiled at him.

"Dear brother... You need not ask my name, I was going to tell you anyway..."

Chase smiled back softly.

"How is mom?"

He asked, letting his hands rest upon his thigh plates.

Her expression saddened, but she still kept a smile on her face.

"She is alive, and you have plenty of time before you need to take on such responsibilities, so do not worry about us. But please remember, that if you are ever in need of help, we will always be there."

Chase closed his eyes slowly.

"I know..."

He continued.

"Which is why I know that I am ready... Because the minute I lose myself, or the minute that this fight becomes too much, everyone that cares about me... Will be there before I can even worry..."

Then his vision flashed, and he was met with a wonderful feeling of euphoria as the first seal began to crack.

His eyes widened as everything came into sight.

He could not only see the souls of everyone inside of the room, but he could see the energy, all of it...

He could understand it somehow, it was like it listened to his very call...

'It's time...'

"Sun Breaker... May the afterlife bring you peace..."

He whispered, as his sword began to change shape in his hand, taking on the flame that burned within his heart.

It wasn't any flame; however, as it burned with a mighty green flare that lit up the entire sky around Leander's office that towered at the peak of the academy...

He had awakened the first seal...

And now...

He was burning brighter than any sun...
