Chapter 214 - Construct Of Chaos

Chase lifted his head, looking into the vast and crimson distance of the underworld.

With a calm expression on his face, and determination laced within his tone...

"What's next?"

The voice chuckled, and the ground around him shook as the living sand began to shift downward into an abyss made from the quick moving spirals of an unforeseen force.

Chase pushed himself up, and started to sprint up the slope that began to cave in underneath him.

Dust and wind blowing in his violently, as his sprint turned to a crawl as he began to climb up a nearly vertical wall of sand.

Below him, a roar echoed throughout the entirety of the pocket dimension, shaking the entire dream world to its very core.

Shivers ran down Chase's entire body as he clung to one of the screaming faces trying to escape the sand for dear life.

Pulling himself up, and not bothering to even look below him, he growled... But as he was about to push himself up onto flat land...

A girl with crimson hair and golden eyes smirked above him, stepping on his hand, causing him to lose his grip and fall into the abyss below.

'Well...'

"Shit..."

He cursed, as he outstretched his arms with his back aimed toward whatever was to greet him below.

Closing his eyes, he concentrated, and he concentrated, and tried to concentrate even harder, until he could feel his brain begin to pulse with pain.

Then an explosion of neon green light lit up the entire spiral sinkhole within the ground, as the once shadow covered crimson walls were lit with the light of a single neon flame.

However, where Chase expected to feel pain as the cursed fire began to radiate to life on his own body... He found none, he felt no such pain...

'It- It doesn't hurt...'

Then he quickly turned his body, switching to a head first dive into the darkness, with green flames shrouding nearly his entire body, except for the singular grin resting on his exhausted face.

A terrible scream was the first sound to be heard, as he crashed into the ground like a god.

The earth- Or more so the underworld's underground shattered and exploded outward from the force of his landing, but his body remained steeled.

He stood up from a kneeling position and gazed up at the thing that he was going to kill for this trial to be over.

It was a construct solider; however, this one was much much larger than the others.

This one had a monstrous head, with terrible horns outstretching from its crown.

The flames started to burn brighter, and far hotter, as Chase's confidence began to skyrocket from the weight of his father's flames no longer being his only solution in combat.

He pressed axis into his entire body equally, and shot up toward the walls of the sinkhole, landing with a crash into the crimson rocks, then he turned and pushed back down, rocketing toward the skull of the construct at lightning speeds.

Knocking it back with a powerful kick, he fell backwards, letting his flames protect him the construct's.

He landed with a thud, and a long slide within the surface of the sinkhole, not coming to a stop until a physically pressed his heel deep into the ground.

And by then he was already gone, in an axis imbued sprint straight toward the construct.

"Use more..."

The voice called out, amusement clearly in her tone.

Chase stopped, leaning back as the momentum tried to carry him closer to the construct.

Then he looked up at the giant devil made of flames, then he looked back down at his own hands, blazing with green flames as if they had always been a part of him.

Flexing every fiber in his hands, he summoned the flames, called upon them, and tried to control them.

His brain was reeling from the amount of power being forcefully pressured into it.

Yet he consisted.

The flames crawled from everywhere on his body, and slowly crept into his two palms, forming a ball of flames between them.

It was powerful... And hot, so very hot that it was actively burning the ground around him even though he had his hand suspended in the air.

Then he brought them close to his chest, trying to compact the ball of flames as long as he possible could.

The construct looked at him in confusion.

He prepared himself, straining his face as he suffered under the immense force of his own potential.

'Screw it!'

He pressed forward with his hands, but keeping his fingers outstretched to try to compact the explosion into a single line.

It was messy.

However.

"Amazing..."

The voice said over the loud cracking and energy blasting into a single point.

A line of pure green flames had launched from one side of the sinkhole with Chase's chest as its origin, and pierced a hole straight through the head of the construct.

He collapsed backwards.

A smile never ceasing on his face.
