Naruto made his way amid the panicking crowd towards the exit of the train. Nobody paid him any attention as they were too busy worrying about their future.
Naruto silently walked out the back door and climbed to the top of train. His gaze focused on the gloomy city rapidly approaching in the distance.
"what do you think of that kurama"
"I can't say for certain but I sense the aura of a powerful demon coming from that portal"
Naruto raised a quizzical eyebrow when he heard that since he couldn't sense anything that powerful. "Do you think it's Dante?"
Kurama shook his head not that Naruto could see it and said. "The son of Sparda is powerful but this one is different. Almost, if not on more powerful than the demon king Mundus"
"A demon more powerful than Mundus?" Naruto frowned deeply. The demon king Mundus was a threat that had almost taken his life. Now he was being told that something possibly stronger than him had appeared. How troublesome.
Naruto looked up to see the train approaching the train station. The fact that the train was speeding up instead of slowing down made it obvious to Naruto that the conductor has no intention of stopping at the train station.
Here we go.
Naruto jumped off the train just before it ran past the train station. He landed softly on the train then turned to watch the train running off into the distance. He could hear the loud cheers of the passenger even from this distance.
"What a bunch of idiots"
"You humans never seize to amaze me. Hahahahah" Kurama laughed boisterously inside Naruto's head. Despite living for thousands of years, human's are the one species that always find a way to amuse him. Their selfish and self-righteous attitudes was unrivaled.
Only when the train disappeared from his line of sight did Naruto turn around and walked into the train station. Right now what was important was getting to Dante and the others.
The atmosphere of the train station was really eerie and nerve wrecking. The train station power supply had been cut off just like the rest of the city, the only source of light was the moonlight shining through the glass dome on the train station.
As Naruto walked into the train station he saw dead bodies lying on the ground. At first it was two or three bodies but as he walked deeper in the train station the number of bodies increased. The smell of blood also grew stronger. Blood stained the marble glass tiles and walls of the train station.
"How gruesome" Naruto said with one hand pinching his noise to resist the prudent smell coming from the dozens of dead bodies in the waiting room of the train station.
The mangled and shredded corpses was an horrifying sight to see. This was a sight that Naruto would never forget. A river of blood flow out from underneath the corpses.
"Kit, to your left"
Hm. Upon hearing Kurama's warning Naruto turned to his left to see something that would have given any normal person an heart attack. A beast half the size of a fully grown adult walked out of a corner looking menacingly at him.
It body was completely black as if it was shrouded in darkness, the only place that wasn't was it red glowing eyes. It released whips of shadows from it body and walked on all four while letting out a low beastly growl. However, the scary part was the bloody human arm in it mouth.
Naruto's gaze turned serious as he glared at the demonic shadow hound stalking him.
"Looks like we found the one responsible for all of this" Kurama said with a deep frown. Honestly, whenever he sees a demon he couldn't help but hate them some more. He might have been called the demonic nine tailed fox back in the elemental nations but at least he didn't go around murdering people for no apparent reasons. However, this demons seemed to be doing it for fun, as if it was some kind of sick game.
"Whether it is responsible or not, I have no reasons to let it go" Naruto stated as he summoned Purgatory. The demonic sword giving off a overwhelming and blood thirsty aura.
Although Naruto said that, Kurama could feel the rage boiling within him.
The demonic hound sensing the hostility from Naruto, swallowed the human arm in it mouth before letting out a loud howl. Less than a few seconds passed before more howls sounded all around the train station and more shadow demonic hounds started to appear inside the waiting hall.
Naruto watched as more and more shadow hounds appeared inside the hall before turning his attention back to the one that called them and scoffed. "Do you think that you are the only one with back up"
"Multi-shadow clone technique" Immediately those words left Naruto's mouth a big white smoke cloud suddenly exploded around him creating a huge smoke screen.
The shadow hounds watched the giant smoke cloud with cautious gazes not daring to approach the smoke screen. However, as the started to clear away they saw a sight that puzzled them.
Where there had only been one human now stood fifteen humans that looked identical to him. Their little brains just couldn't process what was happening. However, Naruto wasn't going to give them the time to figure it out.
Naruto glanced at the copies of himself standing around him, silently observing them. The shadow clone technique, one of the many techniques that was written in the scroll that his parents gave to him.
The ability to create a copy of ones self. He had never had a chance to rest out the technique until now. Fifteen clones is his limit.
Each Naruto held a purgatory in their hands, the combined aura that all the swords gave off caused the demons to shrink back in fear.
"Kill them all"
It was unknown who said it but the shadow clones charged at the shadow hounds. The hallway quickly turned into a battle zone. Even though the shadow hounds outnumbered the clones, they were no match for the furious clones.
It didn't even take a few seconds before all the demons were defeated. After the demons were defeated Naruto sent his clone to other parts of the city to fight the demons.
"Are you sure that it is wise not to disperse them?" Kurama asked after watching the clones leave in different directions. "With the clones active you will only continue to lose chakra"
The shadow clone technique was a really powerful technique, he was sure that if it was in the shinobi world, Naruto would probably be able to use the shadow technique to it fullest potential. But in this world where chakra is scarce, it was taxing to supply one clone with chakra not to mention fifteen of them. It was why Naruto had rarely used it.
"Well I don't have any choice. If I don't do this more people are just going to die" Naruto replied as he ran towards the exit of the train station. More demons appeared out of the shadows to block his way but everyone of them was dealt with.
"Out of my way!"
Naruto was like a grim ripper as he tore through the demons in his way. He didn't even wait to confirm whether they were dead or not. All he wanted right now was to reach where the portal in the sky was, maybe he could find a way to shut it down. l and stop more demons from spilling out and wrecking havoc.
When he finally reached the exit the whole city looked like the scene from an apocalyptic movies he once watched. The demonic portal was now vivid. He could even make out the figures of the demons flying out of the dark portal.
He could hear the screams and shrieks of people coming from the surroundings. The surrounding buildings were in ruins. The whole street looked desolate and abandoned.
Dead bodies and severed body parts littered the street. Some of them even had huge bite marks on them, a sign that they ha been chewed on. Seeing this he couldn't help but wonder if the same thing would have happened to Elena and her family had he not saved them.
The dark and gloomy environment made it feel like the world is about to end.
"Just what happened while I was gone? What could have caused all of this" Naruto's heart tightened at the bloody scene. The city that he had grown to love and call home has become this living hell.
How could Dante have allowed such a thing to happen?
"No wonder you were called back from your mission. The situation was worst than we thought. We need to hurry kit, before it's too late."
"I know" Naruto was about to take a step inside the desolate and bloody road when something crashed down into the ground a short distance away from him kicking up dust and shockwave.
A demonic laughter came from within the dust cloud causing Naruto's expression to harden.
The dust could slowly cleared to reveal a huge figure that looked like a minotaur with a flaming head and arms. It was the size of a small house. The minotaur looked at Naruto with a crazed expression on it face.
"I thought I wouldn't be able to fight someone powerful after coming into this lowly world but I was wrong. I sense a powerful presence in you"
Naruto scrutinized the minotaur in front of him but inwardly he was having a conversation with Kurama.
'Kurama, is this the monster you were talking about!?'
"No. However, this demon isn't ordinary either. It should be a middle or high class demon. It most likely the reason why the other demons are not approaching this area" Kurama explained after observing the demon before them. From it aura he could tell that the demon was powerful, however, it wasn't beyond what they could handle.
A middle class huh? Then it was nothing special' Naruto though before his eyes suddenly turned red with a slit down the middle.
The minotaur that had been rumbling since it arrival stopped when it saw some kind of red bubbles coming out of Naruto's body making a loud boiling sound as it formed a cloak around his body.
"Just as I thought. You are not an ordinary human. This aura is that of a demon" The minotaur said with an excited look on it face. It hasn't expected that after wandering into a portal leading to the human world it would actually find a powerful demon. If it could kill it and absorb it powers he would grow even more powerful.
"Why aren't you taking off your human skin? It's only us demons here. More importantly, did you come here through the portal as well or have you been here for a while?"
The minotaur asked a lot of questions, however, Naruto ignored all of them. He didn't even bother to correct the minotaur when it assumed that he was a demon in human skin.
The chakra cloak suddenly formed and Naruto looked expressionlessly at the minotaur and said. "Can we end this quickly, I have no time to play with a pig like you "
The minotaur's expression turned livid when it heard Naruto's words. It seemed that this lowly human was looking down on it.
"I'll make you regret saying those words"
"Then come, you oversized stake"
