"Eat! Why don't you want to eat?" John Harris stomped on the bun a couple more times and then kicked it in front of Jack Carter.
Jack Carter tightly bit his lip, staring at the bun on the ground, his face ashen. Combined with the bloodstains on his face, he appeared rather menacing.
John Harris added, "I'll count to three. If you don't eat, then there's no need, and you can leave."
These words seemed casual, but were heavily laced with threat.
Jack Carter's face turned even uglier. Eating that bun would be humiliating and a loss of self-respect, but if he didn't, he'd implicate all his brothers. That was something Jack Carter absolutely couldn't accept.
"One!"
"Two!"
Before Henry Forman could say "three," Jack Carter suddenly squatted down and picked up the bun.
"Don't eat it!" all the brothers shouted.
Jack Carter turned to look at his brothers, his mouth twitching slightly, and said, "Brothers, thank you, but I can't drag you into this. We can't beat him."
