Chapter 1: At Last The End - Prologue

'God…' He thought as he could feel countless holes on his body, his face soon began to twist in agony.

'Luckily, there's no casualty, all the children don't seem to be in a critical condition…' He thought, his blurry eyes barely able to catch the glimpse of police officers calming the children.

"Sir! …Wake up! …An ambulance is on their way! …On!"

The voice of a police officer broke through the background noise into his ears, he felt a warm sensation on his right hand as a young girl began to cry beside him.

The surrounding sounds began to grow dimmer as his eyes slowly turned dark and blurry, inside his mind a sequence of memories began appearing in front of him. 'Is this what death feels like?' Soon, he let out his last breath.

At that moment the life inside his eyes quickly vanished as his heart stopped beating.

At the age of 34 years old, William Danfield had lost his life.

"What…? Am I not dead?" His mind buzzed with unexplainable sensation, confusion evident in his voice.

"Welcome to the [Universal Gap], mortal." An otherworldly voice rang inside his mind as he turned his head toward the source.

Two enormous entities donned in a mighty armour and majestic white robe, equipped with terrifying weapons, their backs released countless large and beautiful wings.

Such strange and mysterious sights forced him to ask:

"Are you both, a God?"

The figures shook their 'heads'.

"We are not 'God' but merely his highness subordinates, I am Ouranoz, the Guardian of Heaven," Ouranoz explained as he gestured towards his companion.

His companion nodded in response before adding, "and I am Zora'an, the Guardian of Hell."

Digesting the information William began to ponder before asking, "can you elaborate on where this place is? What is my purpose in being here? Is this a place where all dead people will end up?"

"This place is what us 'higher beings' called [Universal Gap], a blank place between universes, a metaspace created by forcibly creating a multiverse out of a universe." Ouranoz replied before he signaled for Zora'an to continue.

"The purpose of your presence here was to have your deeds weighed, and only special circumstances—well, not really that special I guess because it has been pretty common in the last few aeons, but I repeat, only a soul of somewhat special circumstances were fated to end up here." Zora'an replied as he 'looked' straight at William.

"Then, what's my circumstance?" William tilted his head awaiting for a response.

"We were commanded personally by his highness to handle your soul otherwise we would've called other low-ranking entities like the angels to serve you, the reasoning was due to your incredible amount of good deeds and not only that you seemed to have a lower than average bad deeds."

Ouranoz explained, then paused for a moment. He 'analyzed' the expression of the mortal before him, then continued:

"The offer we were told to give you was either you choose to make a wish using your good deeds or we could help you to ascend to a new layer of reality and have a taste of divinity."

William listened to the offer with a slightly surprised expression as he pondered for a moment.

"I would like to refuse the ascension offer and about the wish…" He gazed at the two eldritch entities before him before he continued, "I want all my good deeds to be distributed to everyone else…"

Surprised, Zora'an asked, "may I ask why?"

"Well, I've lived a pretty fulfilling life, though there's some regret and dissatisfaction but I will not be too greedy," William answered with a warm smile.

"I see, how noble of you, as expected of a man that held one of the highest records of virtue in this cosmos's history." Zora'an's voice carried a tone of amusement.

Soon, both Ouranoz and Zora'an began to exert their authority and redistributed the good deeds across the [Universal Gap] for other souls that were worthy to be given to.

[+100,000]

"Wait-!? It increased!?" A bespectacled young man uttered in disbelief as he saw the rising number above the measuring scale.

He turned his head to a boy donned in a stainless white fabric, blonde hair and eyes emitting an aura of divinity, on the child's back sprouted 4 white angelic wings.

"C-Can you grant my wish now, dignified Angel?" The young man hopefully asked the angelic boy.

"That shouldn't be a problem, may you have a good next life, O'pitiful soul!" The child spoke in an overlapping voice of boy and girl.

The bespectacled young man bowed down as he exclaimed thanks with a voice filled with gratitude towards whoever or whatever that had just blessed him.

[+10,000,000,000]

"Interesting…" Ouranoz stared at the number above the measuring scale with an amused expression, after their previous stunt instead of depleting, it does the complete opposite, in fact it seemed to be rising uncontrollably.

"So what should we do now?" Zora'an questioned.

"Unfortunately, it seemed that as you can see, your good deeds wouldn't decrease, I can't just annul our deal and stopped the flow of good deeds, the flow of good deeds eventually will somehow make it through the filter and ended up in the wrong hands and allow someone unworthy to make a wish." Ouranoz explained.

"Your point?" William questioned, in his mind, he struggled to pinpoint a flaw.

"Some twisted human might be one of those people that managed to acquire their wicked imagination fulfilled thanks to you."

Zora'an explained, short and dense yet still maintained a sense of clarity. Then, the Hell's Guardian signaled for Ouranoz's turn.

"That's right, that's why I recommend you to use your good deeds and make another wish to cancel the current wish and erase the flow of good deeds." Ouranoz explained before he turned towards Zora'an.

"So, may we ask again, what's your wish?"

The divine, ethereal voice and the damned and dreadful voice overlapped with each other.

"Wish…" His mind wandered for a moment.

His hand reached up to his chin. Subconsciously, his fingers began to rub its outline.

"Wish, wish… ah! I got it!"

In just a moment, his mind quickly raced through the sea of memories of his past life.

The majority of his everyday life was filled with him reading web novels and more. He isn't picky in terms of the medium he consumed, he didn't mind a story whether it was told through a movie, novel, animated series or even a video game.

Though he does have a certain genre that he considered to be his guilty pleasure; it was Power Fantasy. Especially when the story was fanfiction and scratched the itch he had for them.

William's lips parted, his voice couldn't hide the excitement boiling within him.

"I remember that I really loved the idea of reincarnation like those found in isekai mangas and fanfictions, I mean being extremely overpowered and living according to my own heart would be fun."

He paused, he also was reminded of something that he had read in a random fanfiction. "Oh, can I also have a wheel that's filled with supernatural abilities like those in fanfiction?" He wondered.

Ouranoz listened intently to William's demands, with a snap of his finger a 3 meters tall wheel filled with encrypted text. "Sure, why not? Take your chances, just spin the wheel."

'I can still read it just fine, neat.' He focused his gaze toward the wheel's text, it seems there was an internal translation device within his mind.

Placing his hand on the wheel's handle, fingers wrapped around it as he intended to spin it with his full strength. "I just have to spin the wheel, right?"

"Yes, though physical strength doesn't really matter, this world was never a physical place, if you will it, the wheel will spin by itself." Ouranoz signaled for Zora'an to continue.

Zora'an added, "at this place, there's no external influence that could affect probability so in theory, only your 'luck' matters."

Listening to the Right and Left hand of God's explanation, William unwrapped his fingers from the Wheel's handle and stepped back. Inwardly he commanded, "wheel spin!"

The 3 meters tall wheel began to spin, its speed gradually increasing, and then stopped dead in its tracks. The wheel revealed a reward for a moment before it started to spin once again.

"Isn't that too fast, I couldn't even see what I got." William focused on the wheel trying to catch a glimpse of the text written on the rewards.

"Mortal, do not worry," Ouranoz calmly said as he pointed at the side of the wheel, there was a holographic screen that showed the acquired rewards.

As the wheel continued to spin and accumulate rewards, he walked forward and took a good look at the rewards list.

His eyes widened in surprise at the ever-increasing array of rewards, feeling like he already had too much, he decided to stop the wheel. He commanded, "wheel stop."

He read through the list and his expression conflicted. "Is this too much?"

Ouranoz called out his name. "William, was that really all you wanted to receive from the wheel?"

William responded with a slow nod.

Acknowledging the answer, Ouranoz began to speak, "alright, now that you are finished, we will send you into a world outside of his highness jurisdiction under his order. Additionally, the fact that there's an abundance of virtues remaining, we will grant you special privileges in the form of [Luck] and [God's Blessing]."

He paused, then added, "Depending on your choice, your memories and cheats will be sealed and suppressed until you reach a certain age, may it be as a teenager or an adult."

As William listened to Ouranoz's explanation, his mind buzzed, his eyelids turned heavy as he slumped over into the ground, unconscious.

Within his unconscious mind, a strange scene seemed to play out.

The formless body of William stared at the glowing white user interface before him.

[ Choose one of the three options for your starting point in your next life? ]

[ Baby Stage ]

→ You would awaken your memories and abilities straight out of the womb, more time to master abilities and learn the inner workings of your new world. Though, you will have to live as a baby.

[ Teen Stage ]

→ You would awaken your memories and abilities when you reach your teenage years, you wouldn't have as much time to learn compared to being a baby but you would already be a rather functional human being.

[ Adult Stage ]

→ You would awaken your memories and abilities after you become an adult at a randomized age, you wouldn't have to deal with being a literal baby or teenage hormones, but you might have to worry about if you were to awaken at the age when you're near your death.
