Ryuu caught the now unconscious Daiki after striking his neck so that he wouldn't make a ruckus by falling on the ground. He then turned around and handed the unconscious Kumo Shinobi to Phoenix.
"Search him and tie him up," Ryuu whispered as Phoenix took Daiki before turning around and looking at the still trembling little Hyuga girl.
"Hey there," Ryuu whispers in a soft tone as he approaches the girl slowly so he doesn't frighten her more.
The little girl shook her head to the sides and tried to move away, tears still falling from her eyes, with her body trembling in fear. Ryuu sighed. He could understand why the child was frightened. Being woken up by someone you don't know, then getting tied up before masked shinobi also enter, would make nightmares for children her age.
"It is ok. We are here to help you. We are Konoha Shinobi, like your family." Ryuu whispered with a gentle voice, wanting to assure the little girl, which seemed to work as she stopped moving around, but still looked at him with fear.
Ryuu then continued to approach the little girl before making a chakra scalpel and cutting the binds on her arms and legs. He didn't want to pull out a Kunai, so he could avoid frightening the already terrified girl even more.
"You are ok, no one is going to hurt you," Ryuu whispered gently as he patted the child's head while peeling the tape on her mouth slowly and gently, so he wouldn't cause her pain or discomfort.
"See, all safe now. The bad man isn't going to hurt you." Ryuu comforted her gently as the girl sobbed quietly, using her hands to wipe her tears away.
If anyone saw this scene, they would rub their eyes in disbelief. An Anbu operative, known for their ruthlessness, emotionless demeanor, and efficiency, comforts a distressed little girl.
"What is your name, little one?" Ryuu asked softly as he patted her head. She appeared to be around his little sister's age.
"H….H(sniff)Hin..ata" Little Hinata stuttered quietly between sobs, making Ryuu's eyes narrow.
"Hinata, huh. A beautiful name for a sweet little girl." Ryuu whispered, making Hinata have a small, tearful smile.
"Buntaicho," Phoenix called with a low voice, making Ryuu turn towards her.
"All that was on him was standard Kumo shinobi equipment and a capsule of what I am pretty sure is poison that was tucked at the back of his teeth. There is nothing else." Phoenix reported.
"So, a suicide mission," Ryuu muttered to himself as he glanced over at the unconscious Kumo nin, who was now bound by ninja wire.
"I am sure that the little girl is the clan head's daughter, making her the heiress," Ryuu whispered, making Phoenix's eyes widen. Ryuu hadn't met Hinata previously, but he knew her name.
"This is bad and becoming complicated. We need to inform Hokage-sama immediately." Ryuu said
"What about her?" Phoenix asked, looking at the still crying girl, making Ryuu turn back to the girl
"Hey, Hinata," Ryuu called gently, making the little girl look up at him
"Go and stay with your parents. You can tell them what happened. If they ask for details, tell them to meet Hokage-sama. Can you do that?" Ryuu said gently, to which Hinata nodded slowly.
"Good girl. Off you go." Ryuu said
Team Shi watched as the little girl stood up slowly before walking to her room's door, before bolting down the hall towards her parents' room as fast as her little legs could carry her.
"Let's leave, we overstayed our welcome," Ryuu said as he slapped a small paper on Daiki's forehead. As soon as the paper touched the Kumo shinobi's skin, Sealing Kanji rushed from the paper and coiled around the ninja's body before disappearing. This sealed Daiki's ability to move or use Chakra.
With that done, Team Shi, along with the unconscious Kumo ninja, disappeared from the Hyuga compound.
A couple of minutes later, in the Hokage office;
Hiruzen was wrapping up before he intended to retire for the night. But a sudden knock at this office's door pulled him away from his paperwork.
"Come in," Hiruzen said.
Hiruzen watched as the door opened and Team Shi came into view; his eyes widened in shock at who they were dragging into his office. His eyes widen even more, and his mouth opens slightly at seeing the Kumo ambassador's assistant tied with ninja wire and with a seal on his forehead.
"What happened? You'd better have a good explanation for this." Hiruzen said while looking at Team Shi with a deadly serious look.
And explain they did, Hiruzen stayed silent as he listened to Ryuu explaining the situation. And as Ryuu finished, Hiruzen rested his forehead on his open palm while his elbow rested on the desk and let out a tired sigh.
"So that was what they are after. They didn't stop after the last attempt." Hiruzen said as he looked back up. He looked like he had aged more than he already is.
"Hawk," Hiruzen called his Anbu commander, who appeared in front of Hiruzen a second later.
"Mobilize all the available Anbu units. Lock down the village and inform all Shinobi to be on high alert. Dispatch a team to get me the Kumo Ambassador. I want to hear what he has to say about this." Hiruzen said
"Yes, Hokage-sama," Hawk replied before leaving in a body flicker.
Just after Hawk left for a couple of moments, two people burst into the office, making Team Shi reach for their weapons instinctively and turning towards the intruders.
Hiashi Hyūga's eyes blazed with fury as he looked at the people in the Hokage office, and as soon as his eyes fell on the tied-up nin, the veins in his eyes bulged as he went for a lethal strike on the unconscious nin. But before his hand reached his target, a hand clamped tightly on his wrist, making him stop in his tracks.
"Hiashi. Control yourself." Hiruzen said as he stood up abruptly from his chair.
"Ni-Sama, Calm down." Hizashi Hyūga said, trying to calm his agitated brother.
Hiashi barely heard them as his activated Byakugan looked intently at the Anbu who had stopped his strike. His fury seemed to halt briefly as he looked at the dragon-masked Anbu. While stopping his strike is impressive, what made Hiashi pause was his eyes' inability to look past the Anbu operative's mask and clothes.
"Hiashi, I know that you are angry, but you can't attack the man recklessly," Hiruzen said, now standing directly next to Ryuu and in front of Hiashi.
"And why is that?" Hiashi replied with barely contained anger, while pulling his hand away from Ryuu, who let go of Hiashi's hand, seeing that he won't attack.
Hiashi is usually a very polite, cool-headed person; it may even be said he is emotionless. But tonight, his anger flared uncontrollably. Why wouldn't he? He was sleeping peacefully with his wife beside him when suddenly his three-year-old daughter entered their room, tears streaking down her face, before she buried her face in her mother's embrace. At first, the husband and wife thought that their daughter had had a nightmare, but when they tried to comfort the girl, they got to hear what had happened.
The entire Hyuga compound woke up on the angry shouts of their clan head as he called for his brother, along with ordering the whole compound to be guarded. Not only was his home invaded, but his daughter was about to be kidnapped, and the ones to rescue her, while comrades, weren't from his own clan or their guards. Making Hiashi's anger flare as he raced towards the Hokage's office to know who had the guts to try and kidnap his daughter. And when he saw the perpetrator tied up, he couldn't help himself and attacked him.
To be continued.
Guys and Gals, show me those powerstones.
