Aries Gold Saint Mu had recently been feeling paranoid.
It was as if someone was watching him, but no matter how he used his Cosmo and psychokinesis, he couldn't find the observer.
Could it be the Fake Pope in the Sanctuary? Mu was puzzled. As fellow Gold Saints, and he himself known for powerful psychokinesis, could the gap between them be that large?
Although Mu wasn't sure yet who had killed his master and taken the Pope's position, he was certain that the culprit was among the Gold Saints.
After all, even though his master was old, he was still a Gold Saint, however nominal. To defeat him, one would need at least the same level of strength.
Of course, Mu's main suspicion was Saga of Gemini, as he hadn't heard any news from Gemini for a long time. Although Gold Saints usually guarded the Twelve Zodiac Palaces, it wasn't to the point where they never had to go on a mission. Occasionally, they could still sense the Cosmo of other Gold Saints.
Only Saga of Gemini had never appeared. If not him, then who else could he suspect?
"Has that Fake Pope made another breakthrough recently?" Mu absently tapped the hammer in his hand. With a'snap,' he cracked a gauntlet made of Gammanium and Star Dust.
Annoyed, Mu glanced at the failed practice piece and threw the scrap into the nearby trash pile, which was filled with a heap of tattered armor—broken cloths that would later be recycled for materials.
Because of this prolonged feeling of being watched, Mu was now distracted in everything he did. If this continued, he might even suffer from excessive fatigue.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Shin, who had been observing for several days and nights, frowned. Although Shin could clearly see every movement Mu made, even breaking them down into slow-motion frames, he was still completely clueless about how to manufacture a cloth.
"No way, it seems there are many other tricks involved. Just by watching, I probably won't be able to learn it." Shin sighed softly. "I'll just pay a visit myself... I hope it doesn't turn into a full-blown fight."
It was certain that Mu couldn't detect Shin's observation, because Shin was using pure eyesight, not Cosmo at all, so of course, he found nothing.
However, when Shin transformed into a streak of light and landed on Jamir, Mu's Cosmo finally sensed a mass of energy, like a great sun, descending.
"What is this? Such powerful... energy? It's completely unlike Cosmo! Could it be a legendary god? Has the Sun God Apollo descended in person? Is this the cosmic power of a god?"
Shocked by the terrifying energy that suddenly descended on the Jamir, or rather, right at his doorstep, Mu opened his door without a word, just in time to see Shin land on the ground from the air.
With just one look, Mu believed that Shin was definitely not the Sun God Apollo. In the Saint Seiya world, the hosts of these Greek mythological gods were all handsome men and beautiful women. Their appearance had to be at least 95 points or higher. The appearance of the gods themselves would only be higher, almost always 98 or 99 points.
Even when choosing their subordinate fighters, these gods liked to follow this principle, specifically picking handsome men and beautiful women. Mu even suspected that the power of Cosmo inherently had a beautifying effect; handsome people weren't necessarily strong, but ugly people were probably trash.
Of course, Mu only grumbled these words inwardly. After all, he worked for the gods, and he wouldn't go around proclaiming such things. Moreover, he himself was a handsome man.
Shin's appearance, having undergone several transformations, could certainly be considered handsome, but at most, he would score eighty or ninety points, a significant distance from even the human avatars of gods, let alone the gods themselves. Compared to Apollo, who was also known for his beauty, he was even further off by a hundred thousand miles.
Furthermore, Shin's attire was very ordinary: a black T-shirt on top, black sweatpants below, and even his hair was just ordinary black short hair, a buzz cut, without any particular style. He didn't look like a god, or even a fighter under a god.
Of course, from the overwhelmingly powerful energy index emanating from Shin, Mu believed that this guy was definitely a strong individual, and thus, his gaze held a certain solemnity.
"Are you the one who has been watching me all this time?" Mu's voice was cold and wary. "Who exactly are you? The Pope's minion? Or a subordinate of the legendary Hades?"
"Uh... so you noticed, huh? No wonder you kept failing at making cloths and looked so distracted." Shin's face showed a hint of embarrassment. No wonder this guy had such a high failure rate; it was because of him.
However, Shin was also a bit surprised by the keenness of Mu's Cosmo. This power truly lived up to its reputation as a prime example of subjective power; it could even detect his distant observation. One must know that in the Marvel Universe, blocking Shin's gaze was easy, but detecting Shin's observation was something very few people could do.
At the mention of this, Mu's face turned completely dark. He didn't know how many cloth parts he had hammered to pieces! Although they were just simulated cloths made for practice, the materials were real.
Recycling and re-extracting materials would certainly result in some loss. The materials for cloths are not produced on Earth nowadays; they can only be found in some alternate dimensions, and getting hold of them is extremely troublesome.
Some of the highest-grade materials are even found only in the God Realm; under normal circumstances, they can only be obtained through divine bestowal.
Fortunately, Mu wouldn't use such high-grade materials during practice, but even so, the losses over the past few days were roughly equivalent to his years' worth of material consumption when practicing cloth manufacturing, which truly pained him immensely.
"You... what exactly do you want to do? Are you here to mock me?"
Mu suppressed the anger in his chest. It was fortunate that his personality was rather refined and amiable. If it were one of the more hot-tempered Gold Saints, or the brainless Bronze and Silver Saints, they would probably have already thrown a punch by now.
In fact, Mu didn't directly attack now because of the immense energy emanating from Shin, whose strength was unfathomable. Otherwise, he might not kill him directly, but he would certainly make the newcomer suffer.
