Chapter 575 - Chapter 575: Fierce Battle

The light of the bifrost flashed and vanished, easily penetrating the shields and outer hull of a massive Zerg warship, teleporting a large number of Asgardian warriors inside.

The power of this small-scale bifrost was far inferior to the original bifrost of Asgard, which could transport across the entire universe, but a distance of one or two light-years was effortless for this simplified version.

However, the most critical issue was the absence of Heimdall's eyes. While teleporting via the bifrost was relatively easy, retrieving them required the commander to use the bifrost's power to maintain constant observation. Otherwise, if a Zerg warship exploded, the Asgardians inside would have no way to escape.

Fortunately, although Loki didn't possess Heimdall's ability to see through the Nine Realms, he could still monitor the Asgardians on the battlefield by harnessing the power of the bifrost.

Dividing hundreds of thousands of Asgardian warriors into thousands of small squads, he teleported them into the massive Zerg warships. Just as they caused massive destruction and the ships were about to explode, he would bring everyone back. Despite the vast numbers, Loki handled it in an orderly fashion, with seven or eight of his mirror clones working together in a feverish bustle.

Don't let the fact that Loki wasn't directly on the battlefield fool you; his busy calculations were no less vital than anyone else's contributions. After all, a single mistake—be it a slight deviation during teleportation or being a moment too slow in bringing them back—could mean the complete annihilation of a squad of hundreds of Asgardians.

"Loki actually has this trick up his sleeve? So this is how Asgardians fight," Shin murmured in surprise.

Thinking about it carefully, it was quite normal. Not every Asgardian was as formidable as Thor, capable of fighting in outer space. Even if their physiques could withstand a vacuum, they lacked the ability to fly.

While the Asgardians possessed the bifrost for direct planetary landings, they might not have interstellar fleets, but they absolutely needed defensive and offensive capabilities against them.

Clearly, relying on Heimdall's reconnaissance coupled with the bifrost's fleet-boarding combat capabilities was the foundation of the Asgardians' confidence in the face of any threat.

In contrast, the Superheroes from Earth didn't feel much surprise, as they didn't share Shin's preconceived notions about Asgard.

In fact, several super-scientists were off to the side, observing the data from Asgard's bifrost with great interest.

As for the other Superheroes from Earth, most wore expressions of being at a loss, unable to integrate into the Asgardian ranks at all.

Even though some individuals were far more powerful than the Asgardian soldiers, without any coordination, the result would only be a case where one plus one was less than one.

Watching the battle in the sky, Shin activated his super-brain and performed some quick calculations.

"The battle situation is clearly unfavorable. Although we have the upper hand in terms of kill ratios, the gap compared to the sheer number of Zerg is simply too large."

Just then, a group of humanoid insects emitting intense energy fluctuations charged forward. They directly besieged Gladiator and Thor. Within moments, these two, who had been rampaging through the sea of insects as if invincible, were completely pinned down.

Frowning, Shin released a black mist from his hands, and then a figure faintly emitting a golden light emerged from his Dark Dimension.

This was the Sentry, who had come along with Shin. It was unclear whether he was a bit simple-minded, truly overwhelmed by guilt, or perhaps afraid of losing control, but he was completely unwilling to appear before others.

So, in the end, Shin had to bring him along inside the Dark Dimension, keeping him as a trump card.

"Sentry, the battle has begun. Do you see those insects in the sky?" Shin said, pointing directly at the bugs. "Your fight starts now. As long as you exterminate those insects, you will be a true Superhero."

The Sentry, who had been somewhat dazed while staying in the Dark Dimension, immediately had a completely different expression on his face the moment he heard the words'Superhero.'

He looked up and—whoa—the sky was full of giant bugs. One look at their appearance was enough to know they weren't anything good, perfectly fulfilling all of the Sentry's fantasies about supervillains.

The Sentry's mental state was already unstable, often plagued by delusions or hallucinations. In short, he was more often crazed than sane. Having spent so much time in Shin's Dark Dimension under immense pressure, it was no surprise that his mind had developed some issues.

It was that same combination of mania and delusion, very similar to when he was above New York City.

"Hehehe hahaha! This world is finally going to welcome its strongest Superhero!"

Laughing maniacally, the Sentry flew toward the sky. When the Shiar Empire's command center detected that massive surge of energy, they were startled, thinking the Zerg had dropped some kind of super-bomb.

"That guy is actually a human! Isn't that a bit too monstrous?"

"Even the power engines of our supreme flagship don't have such strong energy fluctuations!"

"The energy fluctuations are so strong they're unmeasurable. Is this really energy a biological being can possess?"

"Quick! Open the energy shield! With this guy's energy intensity, if he actually crashes into the shield, the entire planet's energy shield will likely collapse completely!"

Fortunately, while the Sentry's mind was unstable, he didn't directly smash through the energy shield. As an opening appeared in the shield, the Sentry's eyes lit up, and he flew straight out.

Terrifying energy erupted instantly, like a supernova. Within a 90-degree arc in front of the Sentry and spanning at least tens of thousands of kilometers, every single insect was vaporized by the energy without a trace.

Even the endless sea of insects seemed intimidated by the Sentry's destructive power, coming to a brief halt for a few seconds.

Then, another group of insects emitting powerful energy fluctuations flew from the rear toward the Sentry. However, the number of these insects was seven or eight times more than those sent to deal with Thor and Gladiator.

After all, even in his lowest state, the Sentry was no weaker than a Thor who had fully tapped into his potential. Unless current Thor were to suddenly power up and unlock his Rune King state, he would certainly be far inferior to the Sentry.

As for Gladiator, he was at the bottom of Marvel's four'Supermen' equivalents, while the Sentry was the strongest among them. It was only natural that his combat power far exceeded Gladiator's.

Even though the Zerg sent a massive number of elites to intercept him, they couldn't hold out for long against the Sentry's increasingly frenzied and strengthening state, and they were soon slaughtered completely.
