After the three men scurried away, the man's attention finally descended on both Lionel and Adrian. His eyes raked over Lionel, who could barely breathe under the intensity of the man's gaze. Only when the man's eyes left him did Lionel release the breath he hadn't realized he was holding.
The man's stern expression softened as his gaze shifted to Adrian. His lips curled into a faint smile as he asked, "Aren't you Adrian, Callen's son?"
"You know my dad… you know me?" Adrian asked, surprised. Finally, someone recognized him and associated him with the guild, unlike those riffraff he'd been dealing with.
"Yes, your father is one of the founders of this guild. I'm just here overseeing a few things," the man replied, then turned to Lionel.
"So, what are you here for?" he asked.
Adrian answered since Lionel remained silent—more like he didn't want to answer. "I brought my friend here to have some items appraised. After that, we were planning to tour the city."
