If they were to completely open up their lives, it could very likely bring a great deal of trouble upon themselves, and thus their behavior is completely understandable.
But understandable though it may be, this behavior has made the search for power users that much more difficult. It was already quite challenging to locate a true power user, as it was impossible to physically check each individual given the vast number of commoners. Even after the war, searching in this manner would hardly uncover a few.
Indeed, commoners who are power users likely have some unique thoughts of their own, distinctly different from ordinary people. Some may realize they could be the power users among the common folk, but others don't possess such awareness, simply believing they might naturally possess great physical strength. However, their notions aren't entirely incorrect, as they have not undergone any significant training and naturally are unaware of what being a power user entails.
