CHAPTER START---
Sitting in the observation area during the Sister School Exchange Event, Yuki Tsukumo proudly watches the final group battle on the monitors. All while the entire room, including members of both schools, from students to faculty and managers, as well as representatives from a few minor Jujutsu Clans, cast concerned glances at her.
Sitting in the same room with a nearly identical setup as the previous year, Principal Gakuganji sighs and turns to the woman. "Is this what we can expect from all of your students now?"
She gives him a mischievous smile. "If by that you mean they'll be full of life and extremely competent, then hell yeah, you can!"
The man is left reconsidering his decision to make her a teacher at Kyoto Jujutsu Tech as the fight continues.
On the battlefield, Aoi Todo, along with over a dozen Kyoto First Years, charges against Jackpot Hakari.
Surrounded by opponents, and finally experiencing the difference in population between schools, Hakari smiles as his Jackpot music radiates through the grassy battlefield. Because Kyoto Jujutsu Tech is supported by the Kamo Clan and conservative faction, which control Jujutsu HQ and represent the higher-ups, they get most of the students.
The Gojo Clan supports the Tokyo campus, and the Zen'In Clan does all its training in-house, ignoring the academy system. This leaves the Tokyo campus vastly outnumbered in every regard, but that disadvantage is more than made up for by the presence of Satoru Gojo.
Because of this, they've not won a single Sister School Exchange Event since Gojo's graduation, as he immediately pushed for Principal Yaga's promotion to his current position and effectively alienated Tokyo campus from the recruiting pipeline.
At least, until now…
"You take that back!" Todo yells as he claps his hands, activating his Innate Technique and swapping places with a fellow Kyoto student beside Hakari. He then launches a punch that crashes into Hakari's face, but the boy's overwhelming Cursed Energy reinforces his body, causing Todo's fingers to fracture against his face.
"Takada is overrated!" Hakari happily yells while punching Todo in the gut, too fast for Todo to clap and swap with anything. He then headbutts Todo, sending him rolling through the dirt.
Todo claps while rolling, just as another student, a slender, long-haired boy, throws a single pebble cloaked in Cursed Energy at Hakari's back.
Todo swaps places with the pebble and uses his momentum to land a dropkick to the back of Hakari's head, grinding the boy's face into the dirt and rocks.
Hakari's automatic healing takes over, and he wildly swings his arm back, releasing a blast wave of Cursed Energy that Todo barely claps in time to avoid, swapping with another rock from the student who helped him earlier.
"Noritoshi, we need a precise shot," Todo says as the others rush in to delay Hakari, and get battered all at once. "Whatever happened in his Domain Expansion is still going, and Momo is too hurt to give us any intel."
"I know," Noritoshi Kamo says, drawing his bow and knocking an arrow to the string. "Get him into position for me, and I'll land a shot that will take him down."
Todo nods and rushes in before Hakari crushes everyone else, reinforcing his body while calculating every option on this battlefield.
Hakari notices him and uses a Cursed Energy Bonus, increasing his output and surprising Todo with the speed boost, but Todo claps and swaps Hakari with a Cursed Tool near one of the unconscious students.
'Every time he does that surge of Cursed Energy, his speed, power, and defense are increased,' Todo glances at the unconscious Momo in the distance before rushing toward Hakari. 'I need information on what happened within that Domain Expansion, but she won't be awake for some time. For now I'll just have to setup the shot for Noritoshi to poison him…'
Todo faces Hakari head-on, constantly using his Innate Technique, Boogie Woogie, to swap either himself or Hakari with anything that has Cursed Energy on the battlefield, barely avoiding attacks each time. As the battle continues, Hakari constantly uses his bonuses, shrinking the time Todo has to react and avoid a knockout blow.
While they constantly flicker back and forth, Noritoshi Kamo focuses on his Blood Manipulation, flowing Cursed Energy into the blood bags within his robes and controlling the crimson liquid to become denser and crystalize on the arrow.
He kneads more and more Cursed Energy and blood into this attack before drawing the arrow back, feeling the weight of it. 'Doctor Ieiri is here, between her and Principal Gakuganji, they should be able to heal his wound and clear the poisonous blood from within his body. I'm sorry it came to this, but I can't lose here, my entire clan is watching.'
Noritoshi kicks a pebble forward, cloaking it in Cursed Energy before it breaks contact with him. "Todo!"
Todo glances over at him, sensing the pebble, and as Hakari is about to kick him in the gut.
Hakari suddenly appears on the other side of the battlefield, his back facing Noritoshi, ready to charge back into combat against Todo.
Only for his body to stumble forward, causing him to look down at the red crystal-coated arrow protruding from his chest, piercing his heart. "What the—"
The crystalized blood immediately rushes into the wound, flooding his heart, then spreads through Hakari's entire body, causing an uncomfortable warm sensation to flow through his body.
"My blood is extremely poisonous, I'm sorry it came to this. We should take you to doc—" Noritoshi's words are cut off as he disappears from his position, appearing beside Todo.
At his previous location, Hakari's punch releases a shockwave that unearths the ground where Noritoshi once stood.
Hakari turns to them and smiles, ripping the arrow out and tossing it aside while exhaling red mist. "My automatic RCT is absolute, idiots. Even poisons get expelled from my body!" he rushes in to begin the next round of combat.
And both Noritoshi and Todo grit their teeth, ready for what they knew would be an absolute defeat, but they had their clan and teacher watching, so they'd be sure to give it their all.
Back in the observation room, Yuki groans loudly. "That's so cheating! But I'll be sure to train Todo extra hard when this is over so he'll kick that Hakari kid's butt next year!"
Standing at the side of the room, leaning against the wall, Gojo laughs. "Train him all you want, my bet will always be on Hakari. I suppose part of my absurd talent is having better taste in students, huh, Yuki?"
Yuki grumbles and turns back to the screen, carefully taking note of any openings Todo could have capitalized on against Hakari. The battle ends seconds later with both Noritoshi and Todo being crushed into the dirt, much to the annoyance of Yuki and the disappointment of the Kamo Clan members sent here to evaluate their heir.
But fortunately for them, the punishment they would face is far less than a normal defeat would demand, if only because their opponent was a student of Satoru Gojo.
Minutes later, the injured students are taken away by Shoko for healing, but before Hakari can return to the observation area, Gojo senses something strange and quietly excuses himself.
Making his way to the main entrance of the school, a set of large wooden shrine arches leading out of the concealment Barrier around campus. There, Gojo sees a group of unmistakable Zen'In Clan members.
He instantly recognizes the men, Naobito, the head of the clan. And Naoya, the heir and leader of the Hei, one year younger than Gojo himself.
Walking a few feet behind them is Naobito's wife, along with a pair of green-haired twin girls Gojo had never seen before. All were perfectly dressed in traditional Zen'In women's kimonos, while the men wore their usual clan head and Hei outfits.
Gojo stuffs his hands in his pockets and stands in the middle of their path. "Since when do any of you bother with this kind of thing?"
Naoya smiles as they approach Gojo. "What's wrong? We always have an open invitation to attend this little circus."
Gojo's blindfold hides his eyes, but they could feel his gaze piercing Naobito, not even sparing Naoya a glance. He then turned to the woman. "Take those young ladies and this annoying brat inside, the Clan Heads have something to discuss…"
Naoya grinds his teeth, but dares not speak as Naobito comes to a stop in front of Gojo, simply leading his mother and the twins inside to join the others.
After making sure nobody was spying on them, both men relaxed, with Naobito taking out a flask and having a sip of his rice wine. "What is it that you need to talk about?"
Gojo frowns and slowly pulls his blindfold down to hang around his neck, staring straight through Naobito. "The Zen'In Clan and Taiyo Daburu, what's the relationship there?"
