Major George and seventy percent of the soldiers in EchoFront had traveled to Hesperion Alliance State, making the base a little bit less crowded. Nica and the other mid-ranking officers maintained the base's upkeep.
Luke on the other hand, if not cleaning the pigs in the pen or scraping chicken dang in poultry houses, he would visit Calyx in the prison. He hated chores, first of all, the smell of livestock.
Calyx had maintained his human memories but his judgment and his being had been in total control of the bug inside him. Luke's guilt never left in the prison cell, his anger against the alien race grew stronger when he witnessed his friend's flesh without a human soul.
That boiling rage that coursed through his veins had pushed Luke to be better in ways of killing than to sulk in remorse. He totally forgot about religion, but his religion only indicated human beings, not aliens. Thus, he thought it was different.
