Chapter 414: A Powerful Ally

Boom!

High in the sky, just as the fierce battle between the three Yuan Gate Headmasters and the Four Great Heads of Tianxuan Sect raged on, something completely unexpected happened. The fourth "Blade of Life and Death," flashing black and white, suddenly tore through space, veering sharply to aim directly at Lin Langtian!

"What are Heaven Yuanzi and his lot up to, letting that fatal attack slip through?" Ying Xuanzi's eyes narrowed in confusion as he witnessed the oversight.

"They're trying to kill two birds with one stone," murmured Elder Qian, his old eyes gleaming with insight. "Lin Langtian is the brightest talent of Yuan Gate's younger generation. If Heaven Yuanzi hands him over to Tianxuan Sect, Yuan Gate will lose face as a top sect, appearing unable to protect its own. So instead, Heaven Yuanzi stages a fake conflict with the Four Great Heads of Tianxuan Sect, allowing Lin Langtian to be 'accidentally' killed in the crossfire. This preserves Yuan Gate's reputation while giving Tianxuan Sect their pound of flesh—a win-win for Heaven Yuanzi."

"Hmph! Typical Heaven Yuanzi—treacherous and ruthless," Ying Xuanzi sneered. A few moments earlier, Yuan Gate had shamelessly sought to punish Lin Dong for his actions, even risking a sect-wide conflict. Unlike Yuan Gate, however, Ying Xuanzi viewed each disciple of Dao Sect as family. This loyalty was why Dao Sect was known as one of the most united of the eight great sects.

For Yuan Gate's Headmasters, however, disciples were simply pawns. If a pawn became a liability, they'd sacrifice it without hesitation. "Poor Lin Langtian," Ying Xuanzi sighed. "With Tianxuan's leaders closing in and Yuan Gate abandoning him, he's as good as standing on the edge of a cliff."

"Those cunning old foxes!" Lin Langtian muttered under his breath as the deadly black-and-white blade sliced through the air toward him. He glanced sideways, his heart darkening as he realized that Heaven Yuanzi and the others had intentionally left him to his fate. He had been abandoned by the very sect he fought for.

Meanwhile, Huang Wuzi, filled with cold contempt, sneered as the Blade of Life and Death closed in on Lin Langtian, freezing the very space around him. "After killing so many of our sect's finest disciples, it's time for you to die."

"Think I'll die that easily? Keep dreaming!" Lin Langtian's eyes flashed red with fury. His fists clenched tightly, and his body glowed with energy as he struck again and again against the imprisoning force around him, desperately trying to break free.

Huang Wuzi merely looked on, shaking his head in mocking pity. "Pathetic," he muttered.

Undeterred, Lin Langtian continued to hammer his fists into the space binding him, even as blood began to seep from his knuckles. Just as he felt the last of his strength begin to wane, a faint hum echoed from deep within him.

From within his body, a dim, ancient golden mirror trembled and released a strange energy that surged up his arm, lighting his fist with a flash of black-gold power.

Crack!

A crisp sound echoed across the sky, and all eyes turned toward Lin Langtian, wide with shock. Fractures appeared in the space binding him, spreading outward from his fist like a spiderweb.

"He… broke through Huang Wuzi's seal?" The crowd looked on in disbelief. Even Yuan Gate's Headmasters, usually calm and stoic, couldn't hide their surprise.

Huang Wuzi's expression soured as he watched cracks spread across the imprisoning space around Lin Langtian. With each blow, the cracks widened until, finally, the entire space shattered like broken glass, leaving Lin Langtian free.

"You're tough, I'll give you that," Huang Wuzi admitted coldly, his gaze narrowing with renewed intent to kill.

With a sharp glance at the situation, Heaven Yuanzi murmured, "So it's decided, then. Lin Langtian has outlived his usefulness." As he spoke, he nodded to his fellow Headmasters, signaling them to engage the other three leaders of Tianxuan Sect in renewed combat.

Seeing their leaders charge forward, the three heads of Tianxuan Sect met the challenge head-on, their powers clashing with Yuan Gate's headmasters in an explosive collision of energy.

In the sky, six experts at the Revolving Wheel stage clashed with such intensity that it seemed like the heavens would split apart, their terrifying power casting a chilling sense of dread over everyone below.

However, some sharp-eyed spectators noticed that, despite the seemingly all-out battle, the six fighters seemed to be holding back, as if this fierce exchange was more a test than a true fight. Only a handful, including Ying Xuanzi, picked up on this. For most onlookers, the primary focus remained fixed on Lin Langtian's plight as he faced down Huang Wuzi's assault alone.

Boom!

The heavily cracked, solidified space around Lin Langtian finally shattered completely. His eyes blazing with a deadly intensity, Lin Langtian glared furiously at Huang Wuzi in the distance.

"Interesting. It seems you have some kind of power within you," Huang Wuzi murmured. He recovered from his surprise quickly, his sharp gaze sweeping over Lin Langtian's body as if he could see straight into his very soul. With a sneer, he raised his hand, sending the Blade of Life and Death spinning once more, this time aiming to strike a fatal blow.

Lin Langtian's expression grew grim as he prepared to tap into his last reserves of energy, but suddenly, his senses picked up something else. A familiar and furious voice boomed from across the sky, resonating over the city.

"Who dares lay a hand on my brother?"

The enraged voice, brimming with dark energy, echoed across Demon City, drawing everyone's startled gaze. Across the horizon, two streaks of light shot toward them, as swift as lightning, reaching the battlefield in mere moments.

Boom!

One of the figures slammed a palm outward, sending waves of dark, ghostly energy crashing forward like a storm. This massive blast smashed directly into Huang Wuzi's Blade of Life and Death, and to everyone's shock, the powerful attack was rapidly dissolved by the corrosive force.

"Who are you, daring to defy Tianxuan Sect?" Huang Wuzi demanded, his face darkening as he looked at the disintegrating blade. His gaze shifted to the two newcomers, now standing beside Lin Langtian.

One of the figures was a tall, handsome young man exuding an icy aura. A look of joy and relief filled his eyes as he gazed at Lin Langtian. Behind him stood a middle-aged man in a gray robe, his expression cool and composed, clearly the one responsible for intercepting Huang Wuzi's strike. Standing together, the two looked like a young noble and his guardian.

The handsome young man was none other than Lin Jinwu.

"Brother, it seems we're a bit late," Lin Jinwu said with a faint smile. "We were planning to come find you in Demon Domain." Pointing to the gray-robed man, he added, "Brother, this is Wu Xuan, a close friend of my parents."

"Oh…" Lin Langtian, startled, quickly recovered and bowed slightly in greeting. "Junior Lin Langtian greets Senior Wu Xuan." He'd already realized that this gray-robed man was at the Revolving Wheel stage, and from his previous display, it was clear his power level within that stage was exceptionally high.

"Ah, so you're Jinwu's sworn brother, Lin Langtian. Indeed, you have the strength and talent he described," Wu Xuan said with a faint, approving smile. "If anyone owes thanks, it's us; you've looked after Jinwu all these years, so our Black Gold Seven Spirits Tribe is in your debt."

"Jinwu and I are brothers and have always looked after each other, Senior Wu Xuan. There's no need for thanks," Lin Langtian replied with a slight smile.

"Regardless, my tribe is grateful. Allow me to handle this trouble you're facing," Wu Xuan replied coolly.

After a brief pause, Lin Langtian nodded in agreement. "Thank you, Senior Wu Xuan."

With Yuan Gate's three Headmasters occupied—albeit half-heartedly—with the three Tianxuan Sect leaders, Huang Wuzi was the only Revolving Wheel threat Lin Langtian still had to face. Wu Xuan's support could very well be the edge he needed to turn the tide.

"Who is that?" Ling Qingzhu's Frost Crow disciple, Shuang Wu, frowned, staring at the two figures beside Lin Langtian. Oddly, she sensed a strange yet familiar aura from the handsome young man.

"That's Lin Jinwu, Brother Langtian's sworn brother," Su Rou replied cheerfully, unaware of Shuang Wu's true background.

"Lin Jinwu…" Shuang Wu's beautiful eyes froze for a moment as she gazed intently at the young man. Her mind was filled with a swirl of emotions as a single thought came to the surface—brother.

Ling Qingzhu noticed Shuang Wu's reaction and gave her a reassuring squeeze, whispering quietly, "It's best if we don't intervene now. With so many powerful figures in conflict, we should wait. You'll have a chance to reunite with him afterward…"

Hearing this, Shuang Wu nodded, though reluctantly, her crystal-like eyes fixed firmly on Lin Jinwu. This was her first meeting with a blood relative.

"You there! Lin Langtian is a condemned man of Tianxuan Sect. I don't know what connection you have to him, but I strongly advise you to stay out of this if you value your life!" Huang Wuzi snarled, his face dark with rage as the two newcomers ignored his presence.

"I'm afraid you won't be laying a hand on Lin Langtian. Not even Tianxuan Sect can change that," Wu Xuan replied icily, meeting Huang Wuzi's glare without a hint of fear.
