Charlotte chuckled and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. "You mean … my ex?"
Aveline chuckled. "Yeah. Your freaking ex."
She gently took Charlotte's hand and led her to sit, then settled beside her. "Alright, spill everything. I heard you got some help from Mr. Sullivan. Want to talk about that?"
They hadn't even been together for five minutes, yet the first thing they dove into was Charlotte's love life.
It seemed like everyone already knew she was close to Damon now.
"Damon's helped me a lot," Charlotte began.
Then, little by little, she told Aveline everything, from the night she ran away, to how she asked Damon for help, and even the terrifying moment when Julian kidnapped her.
Unlike her other friends, Aveline was the only one who knew that Charlotte wasn't completely human, she was a werewolf.
But Aveline only knew that because she had always been drawn to the supernatural.
