Fei Huang hurried down the stairs and walked into the crew lounge, Conrad's voice emanating from the ship's broadcast. The crew didn't know what had happened, but all of them, following Conrad's instructions, picked up their weapons and crowded in the corridor, staring at the loudspeakers on the ceiling, surrounded by a noisy commotion.
"What happened, Fei Huang?" Laura's voice came from the other end of the hallway; she squeezed past the crew members and waved at Fei Huang.
In this noisy environment, the strange incident that had just occurred seemed less terrifying. For a moment, Fei Huang wondered if he had simply seen things wrong.
He too moved towards where Laura was, and then they both bypassed the crowd and headed to the kitchen, which was less crowded.
"I just saw a child, at the stern. It slipped behind the crane arm and disappeared," said Fei Huang.
Laura understood what Fei Huang meant without needing an explanation.
