Chirp
Chirp
The sound of singing birds, some say, is a sign of the birds' happiness. Others say it's a song of love...Well, in some worlds, what if the birds don't sing? They scream in agony?
The sight of a bloodied Sado, walking through the dense forest, glancing around at the curvy trees that bend at odd, strange angles. His pupils narrowed, looking at a bluebird with eight eyes similar to a spider staring at him.
The bird's wings were covered in green blood, and the light in his eyes was fading.
His lips muttered out, silent words.
"..."
" Hey! Stop walking s-so fast. " Screamed Zinnia, peaking her head out from a curved tree, making Sado pause, glancing back at her.
" H-How do you expect to find my village, without me leading you? "
" I'll be able to sense it. " Responded Sado, pushing away long green vines with countless thorns poking out, leaving a trail in the tall grass.
" So, why did Frieza destroy your planet? I heard saiyans followed his every order? " Asked Zinna, hopping between each crunched grass, wobbling with each hop.
"I don't know why, but I didn't like following them. " Responded Sado, reaching up, touching his chest, closing his eyelids, before slowly opening them.
" Why didn't you like following them? "
" I didn't like slaughtering species for someone else's personal gain. "
Sado stopped letting Zinnia get closer to him.
" My parents told me saiyans were ruthless. Killing machines that lacked emotion. "
Sado watched as Zinnia stopped directly in front of him, curiously staring up at Sado, who stared over her head, staring at a bending tree.
" I did too. "
Sado sighed, scratching the back of his head. " Let me ask you a question, Zinnia. When I fought Frieza-
" You fought Frieza! " Roared out Zinnia, her face now shining with awe, ignoring her sparkling eyes. Sado spoke.
" ...When I fought Frieza. I watched as countless people fled towards pods I knew didn't work. Do you think it was reasonable that I wasn't saddened but angered? "
...
" Yep! I would be too. "
A smirk crept onto Sado's face as he suddenly pointed his palm at a bending tree. " So, would you be mad if I killed the people following me right now? "
" ...Yep. "
The awe look in Zinna's face instantly shifted to one filled with worry, as she abruptly coughed, speaking.
" I-I didn't know...they were following-
" I know you didn't. " Said Sado, watching as three figures walked out from a bending tree, they were lanky with the same skin and hair as Zinnia, except that countless black piercings stuck out of their faces.
Anger filled their faces as one of them shouted out. " Sayian! What are you doing on our planet?! "
Sado's hand twitched slightly before he dropped it down to his waist. Truthfully, Sado didn't even have the Ki to fight these men. They weren't strong; he was just too weak to fight.
Sado's lips moved, about to speak, but before he could, Zinnia spoke, standing in front of Sado, sticking her hands in the air, wiggling them while speaking.
" Father! He isn't like-
" Nonsense! He's a saiyan, he's here to destroy our world! They serve no other purpose! " Zinnia's father's beady blue eyes were filled with anger, but under his wrinkly skin. A dread of worry filled his heart.
" He's probably calling reinforcements with that scouter! " Yelled another man, his posture shifting down, bending his knees.
Zinnia looked back at Sado, gazing at the red, cracked scouter on his face, her mind pondering. Until Sado reached up, grabbing onto the scouter, peeling it off his ear. Instantly, the men's muscles tensed, adrenaline coursing through their veins.
Kssshhhhk
Sado's hand tightened, shattering the scouter, pieces of red glass falling through the gaps in his fingers. " There's no one to call. "
Sado's voice was void of emotion, making the men's heads tilt as he continued to speak. " Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta. I'm just a survivor. You have every right to be wary of me, because I am a saiyan. Emotionless creatures that follow Frieza's every order. "
" Exactly. " Responded Zinnia's father, crouching slightly, reaching behind him, pulling out a dagger fastened behind his waist, on top of his thick leather clothing. Zinnia's heart raced, before she bit her lip. Sweat, pouring down her face.
" Father! Think! " Roared out Zinnia, making him glance down at his daughter, confused, before looking back up at Sado.
" Why would I want to kill this planet? If Frieza destroyed mine? We were emotionless beings because of Frieza, clinging to survival through the means of conquering. With that gone, why would I want to conquer this planet? Does that make sense? "
"..." Zinnia's father didn't respond, only the grip on his dagger loosening before he spoke.
" We called the Galactic Patrol. They will be here any minute. "
" It's fine. I figured my past deeds would catch up to me. "
Sado glanced up into the sky, watching several ships hover above the planet's atmosphere, his eyes narrowing as they rapidly descended towards them. Zinnia grabbed onto Sado's palm, pulling him to the side; however, he didn't budge.
" Let's go. You can hide from them. "
" There's no point. I can't stay on this planet. Frieza will die. " Responded Sado, his arm waving as a gust of energy shot out of his hand, sending Zinnia flying backwards, tumbling across the soft grass.
Pieces of grass stuck out of Zinnia's hair while the sound of roaring engines rapidly descended towards them, making Zinnia gaze shot up to the tree line, watching as the ships came to a sudden halt mere inches from the tree tops.
The powerful engines swayed the trees, causing leaves to fall, scattering across the sky before the six figures leaped from three ships, slicing the falling leaves, gently landing on the ground before raising their rifles at Sado. A bald pink officer quickly shouted, his large pupils dilating.
" You're under arrest. For violating the- " He paused, glancing down at Sado's tail. " For violating the trespassing of a planet with the deplorable cause of destruction! "
The man's finger twitched near the trigger of his rifle, worry swirling through his chest. Before he exhaled loudly, stepping closer to Sado, aiming down the sights of his rifle.
The other officers slowly followed behind the pink man, watching as Sado tilted his head to the side, speaking. " What do you want me to do? "
This question stunned the officers, who stopped with shocked looks on their faces.
" Oh. Um, put your hands behind your head and drop to your knees. " Said the pink man, watching as Sado put his scarred hands behind his head, dropping to his knees with a soft thud.
The men stood still, stumped; they didn't expect Sado to actually listen to them. They quickly circled around Sado, pointing their rifles at the back of his head.
" We will ask you questions on the ship. Anything you say will be taken as true. " Said the officer, reaching behind his waist, taking out odd-looking handcuffs that levitated into the air before violently snapping onto Sado's wrist.
Releasing a static shock that caused Sado's pupils to dilate, as he dropped to one knee. Mumbling to himself.
"It's draining my Ki? "
Sado's face started to soften, his eyelids becoming heavy. He tried to push off the ground only for his arms to wobble uncontrollably before he collapsed on his back.
" What are you doing! " Screamed out Zinnia, scaring the officers who shot their heads towards Zinnia, the rifles in their hands shaking.
" Don't you see what that is? It's a saiyan! We're lucky he compiled so easily; it could have been the death of this entire planet! "
Zinnia scowled hurriedly, looking at Sado, whose eyes started to go out. He rushed towards sleep, his vision became blurry. Zinnia bit her lips before speaking.
" I-If you can hear me...Please come back. "
Without a further word, Sado's head shot back, slamming into the ground, as he quickly passed out...
Many Days Later:
Pov Sado:
Clink
A stinging surge through my neck, as saliva spewed out of my mouth. I reached up, trying to grab my neck, only for my arms to be pulled back with thick metal chains attached to a metal wall.
The chains were bolted with a single hinge...
I'm in a cramped room, with only a single bed and a toilet; the average saiyan wouldn't be able to see in this dark room. There isn't a single source of light.
The chain around my neck is rapidly draining my Ki; if it weren't for this chain, I could easily snap these chains off the wall.
I sigh, leaning back against the cold wall behind me. I'm guessing this is some prison, judging from the sealed door directly in front of me. The sound of countless footsteps rang out from just outside my cell.
Before a sliding peephole shot open, pouring a burst of light into my cell, followed by a voice.
" Hello. You're finally awake. I thought you were dead. "
I didn't respond, staring into his eyes, who hunched over, staring through the peephole; his pupils were solid green. He started to tap the cell door before he smirked and spoke.
" You're not in the main Galactic Prison; you've been deemed too dangerous for it. You're in an unknown section with a few other criminals. The chains behind you will loosen letting you walk off the bed once a week, exactly at noon, where you can eat. You will only have ten minutes, so be quick. "
Without another word, the man shut the sliding peephole, walking away from the cell. I just shake my head, glancing down at the dirty floor.
If I had more Ki, I would have fought off those officers, but even if I did kill them, Zinnia's parents would have seen an opportunity and struck. However, it's not all bad, this chain that drains my Ki...It's a double-edged sword.
Sure, it'll keep me weak, but even during that brief conversation. Some of my Ki returned before being stripped away...If I do it right, I could master my Ki usage.
Well...I think I'll spend some time here after all.
