During the Tang Dynasty, Xizong fled to Shu to avoid the rebellion of Huang Chao and stationed himself here.
Inside the temple, he saw a red light like a ball entering the ground, dug up jade bricks engraved with ancient seal script: "Supreme Peace and Neutralization of Disasters," which he considered an auspicious sign.
