Listening to the faint creak of the cart wheels, Leon quietly followed the wagon transporting goods down a secluded street.
He could tell that the other party was deliberately taking the small road, and even though they occasionally encountered simple questioning by patrolling soldiers, the official documentation from the bribed quartermaster, along with the knight tournament equipment openly transported in the cart, easily dispelled the doubts of the night patrol and Royal City Guards.
It wasn't until they reached the western alleys, slightly away from the city center, that Leon saw the plump quartermaster dismount from the wagon and hurriedly leave alone.
Watching the back of the bribed official disappear around the street corner, Leon turned back and instructed Olivia, "Follow him! Take control of that quartermaster, and bring him back to our base."
The young girl obeyed, immediately turning around, her steps silent as she melted into the darkness and vanished in the shadows.
