Even though everyone possessed cultivation and Dao Fruit, running a thousand miles in such a short time had exhausted most of the monks to their limits, forcing them to stop and rest.
Moreover, this place was already far away from the impact range of the battle, considered safe. Continuing to retreat would only waste energy and power.
If our side won, there was no need to continue fleeing.
If the enemy won, retreating another thousand miles would still let them catch up.
Rather than being easily slain in exhaustion when pursued by the enemy, it would be better to retain some strength and attempt to fight back.
Of course, this is the worst-case scenario, as the monks were actually very confident in Manjusri Bodhisattva.
