In Campbell Duchy, Lizardmen are not a favorably regarded species, but rather are considered "vermin" from the Southwest Swamp.
The grudge between them has nothing to do with Hell.
It's purely a territorial conflict from a thousand years ago during the Isaac Dynasty between the Ryan people, and the Dragon God's people who remained there.
This really isn't all that strange.
Even though Campbell people often complain that the Imperial robbed them of all colonies, they hardly realize that before they became Campbell people from Ryan people, they too were a group of colonizers rowing small boats south past the Rapids Pass while singing.
