Dear Jane,
We understand you are upset with us and yourself, but please don't stop writing in your journal. We accept we have done wrong by you and have not supported you as we should have. We apologise that we didn't respect you as much as you wanted and that we have been invading your privacy until you no longer feel safe anywhere.
We want you to know that we love and care for you. We don't want to hurt you or see you hurt. Please, continue using your journal as your therapy tool and we'll stop reading it without your permission. The police and doctors have agreed the same. They'll be signing this too, to show that we've all agreed to respect your boundaries and privacy.
So don't give up. Don't give up on yourself. Don't give up on us. Don't give up on the rest of the world.
Chef needs you. He's embroiled in a case with his son, where he's been charged with aggravated assault. For nearly killing his son to protect you. He really needs his help. We've gotten him the best lawyers and done everything we can, but we need your witness. We need you to be brave and to speak to the police and the lawyers and tell them everything. Please? Otherwise there's a maximum of 20 years on his sentence. The court case will be soon. If you don't help Chef, his son is threatening to expose a lot of information of his background, history, other profession and so on. That information will put a lot of people's lives in danger.
We know this is hard, but we want you to know that we are here to support you. We want to help you. And we want to help Chef who has been nothing but good to you, so that he can continue supporting you.
So we've taken your journal out of the rubbish bin. We're writing to you this written apology and plea for help.
Thank you for reading this and not throwing it away again. We love and accept you for who you are, not who you were or who you were trying to be.
