_Present Time_
"Nuna what's wrong wh-" said eun-ho.
"shh-,your mom is waiting go home" said naein
Naein left without saying bye
"Nuna you are not coming home"said eun-ho.
The air was thick with tension as Eunho stood still in there, her heart still reeling from Naein unnie's sudden departure. The confrontation had shaken her—there were so many things left unsaid.
The moment Naein walked away, Eunho didn't call her back. Instead, she watched her leave, that all-too-familiar heaviness crawling back into her chest.
But as she walked, a strange sensation prickled at her skin—like someone was watching her.
She stopped. Turned around.
No one was there.
Just the quiet street, the parked cars, and the warm glow of the streetlight.
But she don't know what readers know a black car with shadows looking at her having eye on her.
Eunho stepped into the apartment and shut the door behind her, letting out a sigh.
Her mother hurried over, voice trembling. "Eunho, beta… where were you? I was so worried. I'm sorry if I ever hurt you or made you cry."
Eunho shook her head gently. "No, Mom. I just went to the park… needed some air."
Her younger sister peeked from behind their mother. "Didi, I missed you. I thought… you wouldn't come back."
Emotion swelled in Eunho's chest as she pulled her little sister into a hug. "I'm here, silly. I'll always come back to you."
Time passed. Evening fell.
"Dinner time!" her mom called.
But Eunho sat at her desk, writing in her notebook. Her eyes flicked to the name she had written over and over: Minwook
"Who is he really? What is he hiding? And what happened that day in the park?"
She picked up her pen and began to write:
"If I want answers, I have to dig deeper.
Who's really missing?
Who's pretending to be someone they're not?
And who's watching us in the shadows?"
She closed the book and finally went to eat, still lost in thought.
_At Dinning Table_
"Mom why didn't naein noona came home"s said eun-ho.
"Yeah I asked your aunt about her she said she is not home with her she went out with her friend."said her mom
"Tommorow I will go to meet naein noona"Said eun-ho.
*After the dinner eunho went to her bed and fall asleep*
Eunho woke with a start. "I'm late!"
She rushed through her routine—brushing her teeth with one hand while trying to fix her hair with the other. Her socks were mismatched, her uniform shirt half tucked in, and she nearly tripped over her shoes.
Grabbing her bag, she dashed out, hoping to catch the lift.
She groans "why is so slow oh no!"
Too slow.
She ran down the podium stairs, panting, her heart racing.
The black car was still parked near her building.
Her pace quickened.
She ran toward the bus stop but missed the bus just as it pulled away. Frustrated, she turned around—only to spot another bus approaching.
"Finally I get the bus"
Her card didn't work.
The driver sighed, but she managed to find another card in her bag. "Thank you," she whispered, embarrassed.
She finally found a seat near the back and let her head fall against the window. Sleep tugged at her eyes.
When the school came into view, the driver called out, "You're here, sleepyhead."
Eunho jumped up, muttering a thank you, and rushed toward her class.
Eunho entered and greeted her friends—Sooyoung, Dahyun, and Jihyun.
She placed her bag on her seat and turned to go refill her water bottle.
That's when Tae-oh showed up, grinning, holding out a strawberry shake.
"I brought this for you," he said. "Your favorite."
Eunho frowned. "No, thanks."
Tae-oh blinked, surprised.
Her friends quickly stepped in.
"She said no," Dahyun said firmly.
"She doesn't want it," Sooyoung added.
Tae-oh chuckled, giving Eunho a playful smile. "You're feisty today."
Before she could reply, the classroom door opened.
Mr. Park stepped in. "Settle down, everyone."
Tae-oh gave Eunho a playful wink. "Bye, little froggy. See you later."
And left the room.
The class begins to whisper their voices.
"What he called her little-?"
"He is so cheesy"
"He is mad for her"
Eunho watched him leave, biting her lip. Was I too harsh? What if he had something important to say?
The door opened again.
And in walked Jihoon.
Tall. Calm. Mysterious.
With cold eyes and a deep voice, he said, "Sorry, sir. I'm late."
Mr. Park didn't even flinch. "Go to your seat."
Jihoon walked with elegance and confidence, each step slow and deliberate.
The room fell silent.
All eyes followed him.
"He is like a main character"
"He is my favourite"
"He is so handsome"
"I wish I was like him"
He sat down at the window seat—next to Eunho.
He looked outside, his expression unreadable.
Eunho couldn't help it. Her gaze drifted to him.
His eyes turned slowly and met hers.
She panicked and quickly turned to look at Mr. Park.
Her heart was pounding.
Mr. Park clapped his hands and spoke again, "We have a transfer student joining us today."
Before anyone could react, the door opened once more.
And in walked Minwook.
He was confident, charming, and completely at ease.
Eunho froze.
Why… why is he here?
Minwook's eyes scanned the room and locked onto her.
He gave a little smile and winked at her.
"Minwook please choose your seat"held his hands toward the classroom
"I'll sit with Eunho," he said casually.
But Jihoon turned his head slowly and replied with a frosty edge, "This seat is already taken."
The class collectively gasped.
"Wow, is he protecting her?"
"Does he like her?"
"They look good together…"
Minwook forced a smile.Masking his anger
Mr.park spoke "you can sat at the nearest empty seat—next to Dahyun".
His eyes, however, didn't leave Eunho.
And Eunho… sat still, caught in the middle of something she didn't understand yet.
