Kenton walked her back to the cabin, and took her inside.
Drip, drip, drip
Rain water from their soaking wet clothes dripped onto the floor leaving a trail of water where they walked.
He walked her into the infirmary, Lexster and the servant women greeting them at the door.
She cracked open her eyes, seeing a blurry vision of Kenton.
"It should've been you," She mumbled, her pain intensifying, "It should've been you."
"I know you're upset and I hate to see you this way. I'm sorry that this was the outcome…" He sighed softly, walking her over to the bed.
He placed her down on the bed, grazing his fingers alongside her cheeks.
He looked back at Lexster and the servant women.
"Get her cleaned up and tend to her wounds," He commanded, walking over to the wardrobe.
He opened the wardrobe, pulling clothing out for himself.
