"Battle over... To have tangled with me for over ten seconds with a broken vessel, you have every right to be proud."
Indeed, Selene had not used her full strength—not even a single large-scale attack—but neither had the Immortal possessing Jackie. If she had invaded this world during the ancient era instead of the modern age, when the Eight Demon Sorcerers were at their peak, and the Eight Immortals still held their divine ranks to balance the world, she would not have swept away all opposition so easily.
Now, every high-tier power in the world of Jackie Chan Adventures lay in ruin. The balance of yin and yang had been utterly shattered. All that remained was to wait for the Honkai to fully consume this world—and harvest the fruit of victory.
"Now... it's time to tear the rift wide open!"
Spreading both arms, Selene released her will. The Honkai energy she had injected into Jackie's body activated all at once.
Hum—!
Like a meteor impact, the colossal backlash leveled dozens of surrounding peaks. A semi-spherical crater several kilometers wide formed across the landscape, a blinding light illuminating everything around it.
The Divine Armor, having lost its host and the reinforcement of righteous chi, disintegrated on the spot. The fragments merged with the boundless violet-red Honkai particles, forming a spiraling column of energy that pierced straight into the heavens.
Violet-red mist began to rise.
From a faint haze to a dense fog so thick that visibility vanished—all within seconds. And still, it continued to thicken, spreading ever farther, until it enveloped the entire region.
Gradually, the concentrated violet mist condensed into a vast vortex rotating around the spiral pillar.
Soon, ripples surged across the vortex's surface. A massive, continent-spanning violet light curtain unfolded above the central United States, expanding rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Go. Corrode everything."
As if obeying her command, countless luminous motes flickered to life, spreading across the vast light curtain in an instant.
...
At the same time, under the Honkai Beasts' onslaught, Los Angeles—the so-called "City of Angels," the largest metropolis on the West Coast—had lost all its brilliance and splendor.
Rich or poor, all were reduced to the same—blood and fire consuming everything.
Countless terrified citizens fled through the chaos. Each time another explosion sounded, heads instinctively turned upward.
And every time they saw a fighter jet—one of their own—shot down from the sky, some covered their mouths and wept in silence, while others screamed curses through their tears.
"Someone, please... save my child!" cried a woman, her voice breaking from grief.
"Oh God, what did we do wrong..." another knelt, praying desperately.
"Where's the army? Why aren't they here yet?! We pay taxes for this!" shouted a man, his face twisted in rage and despair.
"Hey—what are you doing?!"
"If we're all going to die anyway, might as well enjoy it!" someone snarled, plunging deeper into depravity—looting, destroying, assaulting in their final moments.
...
In the face of apocalypse, every shade of human nature—good and evil alike—was laid bare.
As the range of the spatial transmission field expanded, nearly all artificial satellites orbiting Earth lost signal. Long-range communication systems across humanity were crippled beyond repair.
With no centralized command, local garrisons acted independently, diverting their forces to defend nearby military installations and cities.
BOOM—BOOM—!!
The thunder of artillery shook the ground. Armored divisions and national defense units surged into the cities, struggling desperately against the monstrous invaders.
Rows of automated cannons unleashed relentless fire upon the massive Honkai Beasts rampaging through the urban sprawl.
Attack helicopters ascended, unleashing volleys of rockets and air-to-ground missiles that streaked through the night like meteors.
But their efforts only enraged the creatures.
Moments later, a barrage of violet-red beams tore through the sky. Explosions followed in rapid succession. Fighter jets and gunships alike fell burning from the heavens, one after another, until not a single aircraft remained.
The once dazzling skyline of Los Angeles was now ablaze—its light no longer from neon or hope, but from fire and ruin.
On the streets, the thunderous roar of American tanks echoed as they forced their way into the ruined city. Though the roads were choked with wrecked vehicles, the armored columns relentlessly rammed through the debris, pushing toward the areas where Honkai Beasts gathered most densely.
The rumbling engines quickly drew the attention of the Honkai Legion. A Seraph-class Honkai Beast took the lead, charging toward them in a spiraling assault.
Moments later, the armored battalion spotted the massive swarm rapidly closing in.
"What the hell are those white monsters?!"
"How the hell should I know?! Damn it, what's happened to the world?! We go through one Halloween, and suddenly it's the end times!"
"Wait... what is that thing? Looks like... a giant white mosquito?"
"Oh, my God—stop worrying about what the hell they are! Even if they're mosquitoes, they're straight out of hell! They're coming—open fire!"
"All units, fire at will!"
With half the city already destroyed, collateral damage no longer mattered. As the horde drew closer, the commanding officers gave the order without hesitation.
The thunder of artillery filled the streets. Bursts of fire illuminated the night as one armor-piercing round after another was fired from the 120mm main guns of M1A1 tanks.
A flood of metal screamed through the air. Some Seraph-class Honkai Beasts, relying on their incredible reflexes, darted and weaved between incoming rounds—but many more were caught in the barrage and blown apart.
"Hahaha! You bastards—go to hell!"
"Switch to high-explosive fragmentation rounds! Those things are too fast and too nimble—the AP rounds are useless!"
But before the soldiers could even celebrate, something far worse arrived.
With an earth-shattering roar, the streets shook as enormous silhouettes emerged through clouds of dust and debris.
"Goddamn it... there's more of them—these ones are fifty, sixty meters tall!"
"Fall back! Pull back!"
Too late.
ROOOOAR—!!
A Templar-class Honkai Beast was the first to reach the tanks, wielding a spear dozens of meters long. It swung the weapon in a wide arc.
BANG!
Several nearby tanks were swatted into the air, sent hurtling into the ruins of nearby buildings with a deafening crash.
Moments later, Chariot-class Beasts surged forward. One leapt from the wreckage of several crushed buses, soaring through the air before slamming down atop a tank turret.
BOOM!
Weighing tens of tons, the creature's body drove the tank straight into the ground upon impact.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
With each hammering strike of its forelimbs, the vehicle was flattened further, twisted into a mangled crater filled with leaking fuel and blood.
Another Chariot-class Beast nearby charged up its Honkai energy and unleashed a searing beam at the retreating tanks.
BOOM—!
The purple blast engulfed the line. Several tanks were vaporized instantly, their shattered armor raining across the streets.
Then came the sound of thunderous footsteps.
A Templar-class Honkai Beast—towering over a hundred meters tall—arrived next, barreling through the city with unstoppable force. The impact shattered its own outer armor plates, but the tanks fared far worse. Entire squadrons were flipped into the air like toys, their hulls contorted and crushed, before gravity dragged the twisted wrecks back down.
As higher-ranked Honkai Beasts joined the fray, all resistance crumbled. The once continuous barrage of explosions dwindled, then faded into sporadic bursts before ceasing altogether.
...
Elsewhere, if the army and air force had already fallen into ruin, the navy's turn was not far behind.
Hundreds of kilometers away, still seething with fury and humiliation from being struck down by Jackie earlier, Assaka charged ahead at impossible speed, its colossal body hurtling toward the West Coast's largest naval installation—San Diego Naval Base.
At the base's harbor, where the Third Fleet's outer defense frigates were docked, radar systems suddenly blared in alarm.
"Massive lifeform approaching at high velocity!"
The alert spread instantly. Within moments, the entire base shifted to full combat readiness.
Though the West Coast had already fallen into chaos—the sky shrouded in unnatural hues, electronics rendered useless, distress calls and telegrams flooding in from every state, civilians swarming toward any refuge—the naval base remained barely functional. Amid the panic, the soldiers' discipline still held.
"Are the docked ships ready to set sail?" A middle-aged officer in a decorated uniform barked from within the command tower.
"Sir! We need more time!" a subordinate replied anxiously. "Yesterday was leave day—this attack came out of nowhere! Many off-duty personnel haven't returned, and we're critically short-handed!"
"And worse—supplies aren't loaded! There are too many civilians! The ships can't hold them all!"
"Damn it... there's no time left." The admiral's expression darkened as he stared at the screen showing Assaka's colossal, towering form—hundreds of meters tall and closing fast.
Moments later, after calculating the monster's ETA, he gave his order with grim resolve: "We won't make it in time. All ships—depart within ten minutes! Load as much ammo and fuel as you can!"
"And the civilians... the captains will decide for themselves." His voice was heavy, almost breaking.
"Order the frigates—fire tactical missiles to slow that creature down!"
"Yes, sir!"
But their opponent was Assaka, an Emperor-class Honkai Beast.
When dozens of tactical missiles locked onto it and streaked forward, the beast didn't even flinch. Ignoring them entirely, Assaka continued its charge straight toward the naval base, crushing everything in its path to dust.
ROOOOAR—!!
"Damn it! The tactical missiles aren't working—they're doing no damage at all! We need authorization for heavier weapons!"
"Conventional arms are useless! All ships—set sail immediately! Go, now!"
...
At the docks, thousands of civilians crowded together in panic. When the red alert sirens blared and the warships began raising anchors, the scene erupted into chaos.
"Stay calm!" soldiers shouted through megaphones, but their voices were drowned out by the terrified masses.
"They're abandoning us!"
"Let me on board! Please—let me on!"
"Take my child! Please, just take my child!"
...
And then—it arrived.
Bearing the full brunt of the missile barrage, Assaka emerged at the edge of the base. The moment it entered firing range—
"Open fire!"
Every ship and coastal defense battery unleashed its weapons at once. The harbor became a storm of blazing artillery fire, tracer rounds, and roaring explosions.
"Those ships haven't left port yet—"
But before the officer could finish, the white-and-blue titan suddenly leapt high into the air—its immense body blotting out the sky—then came crashing down in the very heart of the naval base.
BOOOOOOM—!!
A shockwave tore through the base, flattening the central command tower in an instant. Crates of weapons and ammunition were hurled skyward by the blast. As they fell, friction ignited them midair—one explosion after another erupted in rapid succession, a fiery chain reaction consuming the entire base.
BOOM!!!
The fuel depots detonated next, sending up pillars of flame that illuminated the horizon for miles. The scene was apocalyptic.
ROOOOAR—!!
Bzzzzz... Bzzzzz...
Before those who had managed to board the ships could even breathe a sigh of relief, Assaka reared back and roared to the heavens. The massive creature's twin forelimbs—one glowing red, the other blue—began to shine with gathering energy.
"Beep! Beep! Warning! High-energy reaction detected!"
The operator's voice trembled as he stared at the readings. "Sir! The sensors are showing a massive thermal buildup from the creature's body!"
"It's coming!"
ZRRRMMM—!
From Assaka's shoulders, twin beams of red and blue energy erupted—racing toward the coastal fleet.
Blinding light. Deafening explosions.
Moments later—
The Third Fleet—annihilated.
The ocean was littered with wreckage. Every warship within the harbor was obliterated. Only a few vessels stationed overseas survived. Even the few survivors clinging to shattered hulls were soon dragged beneath the waves.
Temporary survival—was already the best fate they could hope for.
And this... was only a small glimpse of the apocalypse unleashed by the Honkai Beasts.
Under Selene's command, tens of millions of them surged into this world.
The darkest hour had begun.
