"Yuvintus has probably already mastered the [Secret Cocoon]."
As the most favored first-generation descendant of the Black Wizard King, Yuvintus certainly had no shortage of magic crystals.
Ronan couldn't help but wonder what would hatch from Yuvintus's [Secret Cocoon].
However, the wonder of the [Secret Cocoon] lies here—the final entity formed within the "Secret Cocoon" is related to the wizard's foundation, comprehension, bloodline, and soul characteristics, varying from person to person.
Most importantly, it is closely tied to the energy-based spell chosen for "transformation."
It's entirely possible for a hundred wizards practicing the [Secret Cocoon] to end up with a hundred different spells.
The differences between them could be worlds apart.
Without a doubt, Ronan naturally chose [Energy Missile] as his spell carrier.
"If [Energy Missile] reaches Master level and transforms into [Taboo. Black Hole], what would it become after another transformation through the [Secret Cocoon]?"
Ronan stroked his smooth chin, feeling a bit of anticipation.
The appearance of the [Secret Cocoon] had slightly accelerated his original advancement plan.
Ronan spent two weeks meticulously "polishing" himself from the inside out.
He had originally planned to attempt a breakthrough in [Ascetic Body Forging] before his advancement. However, the final step to Master level in [Ascetic Body Forging] was fraught with uncertainty in terms of time required. Moreover, he no longer lacked the resources for advancement, so there was no need to risk enduring the energy impact during the advancement with his physical body. Thus, Ronan didn't force it.
Two weeks later, Ronan took out a [Message Stone] and contacted Misha's people.
On the edge of a vast plain, near a long, narrow canyon, Ronan landed his airship and slowly stepped onto solid ground.
He put away the airship and then took out a fiery red crystal, slowly crushing it in his hand.
The crystal powder fell to the ground and turned into burning flames. From the flames, a blood-red parrot flew out at an incredible speed, disappearing into the canyon in front of him in the blink of an eye.
After the blood-red parrot disappeared, Ronan waited for a full two hours before finally sensing an energy fluctuation rising from the canyon.
A figure stepped out of the void, walking step by step from the canyon, heading straight toward Ronan.
The force field radiating from his body proved that this was a Level 4 Wizard.
He had the appearance of an ordinary middle-aged man, with short silver-gray hair, sharp features, and three flame-like scars on his left cheek.
He wasn't wearing the attire of the Spirit Lake faction, but rather a simple black robe woven with gold, with a crimson cloak draped over it.
Ronan narrowed his eyes.
In the Spirit Lake Deep Sea faction, wizards who specialized in fire magic were truly rare.
The essence of fire magic was inseparable from combat, and the vast majority of wizards who practiced fire magic would choose to join the Flame School.
The middle-aged wizard approaching him had a cold gaze and only spoke when he was right in front of Ronan: "Are you Ronan Damien?"
"Lord Sigel."
Ronan greeted him with a salute.
The Silent Corridor wasn't a place specifically designed for Spirit Lake wizards to advance. On the contrary, the Silent Corridor was a trial realm that hadn't been fully explored, and it was quite dangerous. Many Level 4 Wizards chose to hone their combat skills there.
So this time, when entering the Silent Corridor for advancement, Misha had very "thoughtfully" arranged for a Level 4 wizard to "escort" him.
That wizard was the middle-aged man named Sigel standing before him.
"I've been waiting for you at the entrance of the corridor for over a year," Sigel said, looking at Ronan.
Ronan lowered his gaze and replied, "My apologies."
Perhaps because his attitude was decent, Sigel let out a light hum and didn't say anything more. He simply tossed out a "Follow me" and then turned to fly toward the direction of the canyon.
Ronan followed Sigel as they descended into the canyon, where glowing moss covered both sides of the cliffs.
At the very bottom, there was a thin river that seemed to be made of condensed moonlight, flowing slowly.
In the darkness, eagles with wings crackling with electricity occasionally streaked by, leaving behind bright but fleeting trails.
The two continued downward until they were close to the bottom of the canyon, nearing the moonlit river. At that moment, Sigel suddenly turned and disappeared into a cave in the cliff wall.
What followed was a long and winding path until Ronan saw light again.
—A giant crystal cluster floated in mid-air, illuminating an unusually vast cavern.
Translucent energy chains from the crystal cluster were tightly connected to the ground, forming natural bridges.
This area seemed to be sealing something, as the energy fields were somewhat chaotic. In certain areas, rocks floated upward, creating the strange sight of an inverted stone forest.
At the base of the stone forest, Ronan saw the outline of a massive Rune Array. He accidentally kicked a loose stone, and a clear echo reverberated throughout the cavern.
"If you have any questions, ask them all here in one go," Sigel said, stopping in front of the giant crystal cluster and turning to look at him. "Once we go in, remember to keep your mouth firmly shut. It's best not to make a single sound."
Ronan thought for a moment, then shook his head.
Sigel turned around expressionlessly and walked straight toward the crystal cluster, with Ronan following closely behind.
Just as the two were about to reach the base of the crystal cluster, a vortex-like entrance suddenly appeared on its surface. A wizard in deep blue Wizard Robes quickly emerged from the vortex, bringing with him a flurry of snowflakes and a chilling cold. He was also at the Level 4.
The wizard, who happened to run into them, visibly brightened upon seeing Sigel, clearly recognizing him. He greeted him with a hearty laugh.
"Oh~ Sigel! You're still here guarding this place? Since when did you start being a guard in the Silent Corridor?"
He glanced at Ronan, seemingly sensing the mental energy fluctuations emanating from him, and joked, "Is this your troublesome nephew? He looks like he's got more potential than you."
Ronan wisely lowered his head, pretending not to hear anything.
Sigel, standing beside him, snorted coldly, then his lips moved as if he were quickly exchanging words with the other wizard.
Ronan heard the wizard let out an "Oh" of realization, and the way he looked at Ronan became somewhat peculiar.
The wizard clearly chose to skip over the topic of Ronan and continued chatting with Sigel about other matters.
Ronan couldn't hear their conversation, but he could see the expressions of both men gradually becoming serious.
In the end, the wizard bid farewell to Sigel and left, hurriedly throwing out a sentence before departing: "..that lunatic from the Wizard Heart Hall doesn't follow any rules. Just be careful and don't run into him."
Wizard Heart Hall. Ronan's eyes flickered slightly at the mention of this term, and he instinctively thought of Jason, who had entered the Wizard Heart Hall around the same time as him.
By now, Sigel had already cast a spell under the giant crystal cluster to open a portal. Ronan watched as Sigel carefully sprinkled some unknown powder to dispel the "Time Curse" lingering at the vortex entrance, then quickly gestured for Ronan to follow.
Ronan's soul age on his character panel had just barely reached twenty-six, so the Time Curse had almost no effect on him. He passed through it smoothly.
As soon as he entered the Silent Corridor Secret Realm, a wave of decayed, desolate, and ancient aura rushed toward him.
What appeared before Ronan was an incredibly tall and narrow passageway, with mottled traces everywhere, as if giants had once walked through it.
Ronan sensed the distribution of free energy particles within this secret realm space when he suddenly noticed a few humanoid shadows emerging from the wall not far ahead, holding staffs and charging straight at him.
Ronan instinctively took a step back.
"Tap—"
The faint sound of footsteps was amplified into a thunderous roar in the corridor space. Before Ronan could react to the sudden noise, ripples began to form beneath his feet and around him.
Then, countless ripples transformed into glowing vines covered in flowing runes, wildly lashing toward him! "Boom!"
The Ithium attached to Ronan's Wizard Robe exploded, forming layers of flowing, mercury-like metal barriers that firmly blocked the surroundings.
The glowing, rune-covered vines fiercely struck the metal barriers, producing a series of thunderous roars. Immediately, more ripples appeared in the void, and the already numerous glowing vines seemed to be injected with some kind of stimulant, growing even more wildly.
Ronan frowned, and the metal barriers around him melted like water, transforming into countless tendrils that tightly entangled the vines from all directions.
As more and more vines sprouted, reaching a level that was almost hair-raising, Ronan caught a glimpse of Sigel standing coldly to the side, a sneer curling at the corner of his lips. Ronan's eyes flickered, and he suddenly dispersed all the Ithium, allowing a portion of his mental energy to surge out. "Whoosh—"
Ronan stood still, breathing steadily without making a sound.
Around him, a translucent golden mental energy field firmly resisted the countless vines, and the space seemed to freeze in that moment.
Ronan watched as the vines, which had been thrashing wildly just a second ago, rapidly withered and dissipated before his eyes... until not a single one remained.
When all movement had ceased and the corridor had fallen into complete silence, Sigel, who had watched the entire "show" from beginning to end, quietly approached him, sending a ripple of consciousness.
"It seems you're different from those sycophants under Misha's command."
Ronan looked at him calmly and replied with his own consciousness, "Is this the reason why no sound should ever be made in the Silent Corridor?"
Siegel nodded, perhaps Ronan's previous performance had caused a shift in his attitude, and he took the rare initiative to explain to Ronan.
"The Silent Corridor is the ruins of an ancient sound-based spell school. Due to its unique environmental composition, any spell summoned within the Silent Corridor leaves an 'echo,' and sound is the condition that stimulates these 'spell echoes.'"
"What you just saw was the shadow of an ancient wizard from the Silent Corridor who once passed through here. What attacked you was also the 'ancient sound spell echo' lingering in this place."
"Spell echoes... ancient sound-based spells."
Ronan blinked, feeling his horizons expanding.
