The students listened closely to William. He was their mentor, the one whose advice they followed.
That day, he had more than one class, so he was only free at around 4 pm, which was quite late when compared to most professors. He was one of the few who had been working hard.
After finishing work, William usually read necromancy books and prepared to learn about Brian and plan his death.
But now? Now the principal wanted him to investigate the spies within the academy grounds.
William thought that he would be able to stall and start it at another time, but that didn't happen. A few minutes after he entered his room in the professor's dorm, the principal showed up with some files.
"Here's everything we know," the principal said, handing William a scroll. "Read it today. Start investigating tonight, if you can."
William accepted the scroll. "I don't have time for this. Classes are tiring, and I need time for myself—training, etc."
