William didn't want to go—but the headmaster said something that changed his mind. It was a pretty good offer.
"If you succeed in this mission, we're considering adding a new member to the council. What do you think? It's a great opportunity."
The council was where the sect's high-ranking members operated. If William wanted to uncover the truth—whether the sect was truly evil or not—he'd have to reach those ranks himself.

"Are you serious?" William asked. "I thought the process to enter the council was… harder."
"You're assuming this mission will be easy," the headmaster replied. "But your talent is the reason they're even considering you. We don't find people like you every day—and you know that."
"You're right. Sorry for the stupid question."
"It's nothing. Prepare to leave in three days. We're working on your new documents."
