They returned to where the royal family was — the same room as before.
The king spotted them first, and the surprise on his face said it all.
"What? Done already?" the king asked.
"Yes," William replied. "All of the soldiers are dead. Shall we move?"
The king wasn't the only one stunned by the news.
The entire royal family stared at William, clearly shaken — though none of them said a word.
They had underestimated him. All of them had.
"Sure," the king finally said. "The sooner we go, the better."
No one disagreed. There was no point in staying.
So they left the palace.
It was strange — almost surreal — for the royal family to step outside after so long.
The fresh air. The rustling trees. The forest stretching out before them. The towering mountains in the distance.
It was beautiful. Emotional, even.
But then they saw it.
