Every guard in the hall snapped into position at once, weapons half drawn, eyes scanning corners that held nothing.

Then a portal split open near the center of the room, quiet, unhurried, and a child stepped out.
White hair. Sapphire eyes. And of course, it's Leon.
Behind him, Veth and Coryn followed, both looking considerably worse for wear than they had a few minutes ago.
"So it's you," Zhask said, studying the boy with something between curiosity and disbelief.
