Chapter 18: Unexpected Situation
Arthur remembered from a novel he had read in his previous world that he should be able to see stats like strength, agility, and stamina in a system like this, so he tried to imagine whether it would work.
His assumption wasn't wrong, as just like he had expected, the transparent red screen in front of him extended a bit more, and now he could see many other stats.
[Name: Arthur]
[Age: 17]
[Race: Lower Human???]
[Class: None]
[Title: Owner of Ethelarion Replisis]
[#Authority: I am the shadow that walks with you,
Not quite the same, but near and true.
Half the strength but all your face,
Absorb me to reclaim your grace.
[Talent: None]
[Bloodline: None]
[Physique: None]
[Strength: 3(+3)]
[Agility: 2(+2)]
[Stamina: 4 (+4)]
[Mana: 1]
[Vitality: 3(+3)]
[Intelligence: 4(+8)]
[Defense: 2 (+2)]
Arthur slowly began to read the new information that appeared in front of him. After reading the first one, which showed Talent, seeing there is "None" written on it, which meant he had no talent at all, but he didn't get discouraged this time like the last time, as whatever the case might be, he is going to do everything to become stronger.
Reading the next two—Bloodline and Physique, which also showed ""None"—but those didn't come as a surprise to him at all, and now he finally focused on his raw stats.
His actual strength is 3, and after taking the effect of his title, it has become 6. Now he didn't feel any change at all in between, which didn't come to him as a surprise, as he is not used to this new body.
Without taking the effect of his title, there is not even a single stat that has reached 5 overall, and recalling the state of his skinny body, it didn't come as a surprise that his stats were that low.
He recalled the memory of the previous Arthur being taken advantage of by those other slaves. He has etched the faces of those in his mind, and when the time comes, he is going to teach them a proper lesson.
But right now, his main focus would be on trying to solve the riddle so that he can use the authority he can gain from the Etheralion Replisis. Just from seeing the effect of its title, he is excited to uncover the secret.
However, right now, he is going to sleep, as it is getting hard for him to keep his eyes open. He had also decided to train his body, but that's for tomorrow, as right now all he wants is a proper sleep.
Only after a minute of resting his body without any thoughts in his mind did his tired body quickly fall asleep.
It was around after midnight at 3 a.m. when Arthur had fallen asleep, and now it has already been after 1 p.m., and Arthur doesn't seem to have any intention of waking up.
It would have caused trouble for others for not showing up for work, as today is Wednesday—it means they have to do their usual six-hour shift—but luckily for Arthur, Liora and Zyra had already taken care of his absence today and informed an elf in charge of administering slaves.
They know he had been through a lot and even lost his memory because of it, so their decision to inform others that Arthur wouldn't be present today wasn't the wrong one.
But currently, Liora seems to have a troubled expression on her face, and Zyra, who usually seemed to show no expression, also has a little frown on her face, and both of them know what the reason for it is.
'Why has Arthur not even shown up for breakfast? Even now, it has already been 1 p.m.
'Did something happen to him?'
Both of them are having similar thoughts, and they are quite anxious now.
Suddenly, Liora said in a resolute voice, having a serious expression on her face:
"Let's go, Zyra!"
Zyra, without even asking her where she wanted her to go, quickly understood her words and replied to her almost instantly, as if she had been waiting for her to say those words.
"Let's go!"
Both of them knew if they left their post right now, it could even get them punished, but neither of them voiced their thoughts. They departed toward Arthur's room, as it didn't matter to them if they would get punished later on or not. Right now, they had a much more important thing to focus on.
Which is Arthur.
They left the mining site and quickly began to move toward Arthur's room, and in between, quite a few elves noticed both of them walking toward the slave quarters, and a few of them were those who had stopped them before when they were prince-carrying Arthur yesterday.
They had quite a score to settle with them, and right now felt like the perfect opportunity to teach them a lesson.
One of the elves had blue hair, which seemed to indicate her association with a certain clan of elves—but her hair seemed to be of a light blue color, which indicated that she isn't of direct lineage and her bloodline is thin—but that was already enough for her to earn the position of leader among other half-elves and low-ranking elves.
She whispered something in the ear of one of the elves. Hearing her words, the other elf seemed scared for some reason, but she didn't ignore the words of the blue-haired elf and quickly left, even while she was scared, to do what she was ordered, but her fear of being on the bad side of the blue-haired elf was greater.
But most importantly, she didn't think it would be that, considering she isn't telling any lies.
Liora and Zyra reached the same front wooden door, which had a strange magical array on it, which was stopping them from opening the door directly, as, other than the warden and Arthur himself, no one else could open the door.
So their only option was to call him from behind the door and hope that Arthur would wake up, and if it didn't work, they were ready to get the warden involved, no matter how scared they were of her.
"Arthur, are you okay?!"
Their voice is loud, but it is still not enough to make Arthur wake up, who seemed to be sleeping like a baby.
