Gladion flew high on Elder Green and sped past every scout Team Rocket had placed around the base. The scouts saw him enter their territory and quickly climbed on their own Pokémon. They chased after him in military uniforms and shouted loud warnings.
"Halt! You are trespassing in restricted military territory! State your purpose or we will attack!"
Gladion ignored every word. He knew they were all Team Rocket liars. Either they were military people who have changed their allegiance to Team Rocket or people who started as team rocket.
He flew straight toward their main base. Alarms rang out across the base. Hundreds of people in uniforms poured from doors and bunkers. They released Pokémon ready for battle.
An older man flew up on a large Pidgeot and blocked Gladion's path.
"Gym Leader Gladion," the man said with a fake smile. "It is a pleasure to see you well after your recent battle. You helped Indigo greatly. But what brings you here today?"
The man recognized Gladion as he came face to face with him. The chasing scouts stopped behind their leader. They kept hands on Poké Balls but looked confused. They acted like they had done nothing wrong and did know why a gym leader was coming to their territory.
Gladion felt anger boil inside him. 'It is as if they believe their own lies,' he thought. "I would almost feel doubtful if I did not know the truth. Koga and I have checked everything. They are all Team Rocket."
Gladion stared at the traitorous general. "You can stop the acting. All of you are nothing more than scum. Traitors to Indigo. Criminals who steal from innocent Pokémon and hurt children. You hide behind uniforms while you destroy lives for money and power. You make me sick. Today your lies end."
His voice shook with emotion. "You attacked my region on a day of celebration. You stole eggs from mothers who only wanted their babies safe. You turned a whole mountain against us. Because of you my Pokémon suffered. One of them lost his arm protecting me. You think you can hide behind fake smiles and old uniforms? I see you for what you are. Cowards who hurt the weak."
The fake general's face twitched. Other soldiers shifted nervously. Hands tightened on Poké Balls. Their acting cracked for a second. And Gladion noticed it all. This confirmed his already confirmed suspicions.
The general tried one last lie. "Gym Leader, we are loyal citizens of Indigo. We would never—"
Gladion cut him off. "I have heard enough lies. I am done with Team Rocket. This is what will happen. You will all fall here today. I will take every stolen egg and return them to their families."
For a moment confusion flashed on the general's face when Gladion mentioned eggs. Then it turned into an ugly sneer.
"Well," the general said coldly. "It seems we have no choice. You will die here, Gym Leader or not. Your arrogance is clearly showing Gym Leader. You might have fought a legendary but you can't so many of us. And it has only been a day, I don't believe that your pokemon might have recovered after a fight against Moltres. How do you plan to fight hundreds of us and our Pokémon alone?"
He laughed. "Your alpha Tyranitar will not save you either even if it has recovered."
The mask was off. The general and every soldier released their Pokémon. More people ran from buildings. Some already wore open Team Rocket uniforms. Hundreds of Pokémon filled the air and ground. They surrounded Gladion completely.
"Well then," the traitor general shouted. "Die, little Gym Leader!"
Hundreds of attacks fired at once. Flamethrower waves. Shadow Balls. Thunderbolts. Hyper Beams. The sky turned bright with deadly light.
Gladion stood calm on Elder Green's back. A blue psychic barrier formed in front of him.
Then one special Poké Ball on his necklace burst open.
Legendary dragon aura exploded outward. Pure anger and power pressed down on every living thing. Team Rocket members fell to their knees. Pokémon whimpered and backed away. Weak ones fainted on the spot. The pressure felt like the sky itself had turned against them.
Latios appeared in a flash of blue light. His eyes burned with cold fury.
The fake general's Pidgeot never had a chance. Latios looked at it once as if it was a fly. Psychic power crushed downward. The bird and rider slammed into the ground like a thrown stone. Rock exploded. Blood spread. They did not move again.
Every Team Rocket member stared in pure terror.
Then the second special Poké Ball opened.
Latias joined her brother. Pink and white light mixed with blue. Double legendary aura crashed over the base like a wave. Some of the ztronger Pokémon fell over. The air itself felt heavy and impossible to breathe. Some soldiers fainted. Others cried in fear.
The Eon duo hovered on either side of Gladion. Their power filled the sky.
Team Rocket stood frozen under the weight of two angry legendaries.
