The conference room at the Indigo Plateau was filled with shock and suspicion faces as the TV screen froze on Gladion face with his official statement still ongoing .
The Elite Four, Champion Pryce, major and minor Gym Leaders, and League officials sat in stunned silence, their eyes darting to the accused: League officials Harlow, Clara, Marcus, and minor Gym Leaders Victor and Elise.
Their names had just been blasted across Indigo by Gladion, backed by damning evidence of corruption.
Pryce's pinned the accused with a glare as he mumbled,"I really was too arrogant to see the rats among us. You have made me look like a fool. I gave you the position as league representatives and minor gym leaders not because you supported me as a champion but because I trusted you for the benefit of the League. You have done great injustice to Kanto. If these accusations turns out to be correct, don't expect any support from me."
It was obvious to the experienced league members that Pryce was washing his hands away from the traitors of the league to safeguard his own reputation.
On the other hand, Agatha's smile was pure malice, her eyes glinting with a predatory glee that made Harlow, Clara, Marcus, Victor, and Elise gulp.
Koga, seated nearby, casually sharpened a kunai, the metallic scrape loud in the silence.
Everyone knew Agatha and Koga handled traitors in the League—and their methods were brutal. 'They're screwed,' Gwen thought, her grin widening.
Harlow, the lead official, shot to his feet, his face red with panic. "This is preposterous!" he shouted, his voice cracking.
"Gladion's bluffing, shifting the blame! He's the criminal here!" He said with desperation, but no one bought it.
On the TV, Gladion's voice cut through, calm and cutting. "League official Harlow, head of the Judiciary system, has let several Team Rocket grunts walk free without punishment."
The screen flashed a list of names—Rocket grunts, their crimes detailed: theft, extortion, murder of young trainers. "Yes, you heard me right,"
Gladion continued,"Killers of kids are roaming free, living it up, thanks to Harlow." The room gasped, people faces turning with outrage. "The Jennys and Kanto police, at my request, are raiding his house. They've already found piles of undisclosed cash."
As the evidence was displayed on the screen, Harlow lost all his desperation as he fell back on his seat. He was pale faced and looked like that he lost all his will to live.
Gladion then statement rolled on, naming Clara, Marcus, Victor, and Elise one by one, each accusation backed by evidence: bank records, secret messages, ties to shady groups.
"These corrupt officials and Gym Leaders decided to target me," Gladion said, his voice cold.
"The agencies attacking me recently? They've been funded by these people and some anonymous sources we haven't traced yet."
He leaned closer to the camera, his eyes blazing. "So, Kanto, it's your call. Were my actions to save Moonwood wrong? These corrupt snakes deserve punishment too. You have the right to decide whether I deserve any punishment or not." With that, he walked off the stage, the broadcast ending.
Back in his room, Gladion sat on his bed, as he scrolled through his social media, messages from his PR team flooding in, praising his statement.
His evil smile grew as he replayed the League meeting recording Gwen had sent. 'Good job, sis,' he thought.
'You got me the dirt I needed.' The recording revealed who spoke against him—Harlow, Clara, Marcus, Victor, Elise—confirming they were Team Rocket's puppets. 'I knew they were dirty, but pinning them this fast? Priceless. I sometimes'
How had Gladion gathered such damning evidence so quickly? Simple: he'd been prepared. Before the meeting, his network—trainers, hackers, even a few shady contacts f—had dug up dirt on every minor Gym Leader and League official attending.
'Knowledge is power,' he thought, his smirk sly. 'I had files on all of them, just waiting for the right moment.'
When Gwen's recording showed who attacked him, he knew exactly which files to leak. 'These guys thought that they could smear me, but I've got their number. This would also stop the others from crossing me.'
'It's a warning to the League,' Gladion thought, his face darkening. 'Mess with me, and I'll burn everything you have worked for down.'
His only regret was Giovanni. 'That snake's too slippery. Only his executives know he's Rocket's boss. The grunts just follow orders from Proton, Ariana, and the rest.' He clenched his fist. 'One day, I'll get you, Giovanni. You won't be safe every time. At least, I have got rid of Giovanni's lackeys in the league management.'
Back at the Indigo Plateau, the accused squirmed under Pryce's glare and Agatha's grin.
Elise, the minor Gym Leader, bolted for the door panically. Agatha vanished from her chair as she phased through the floor, reappearing in front of Elise, her cane smacking the woman's face with a sharp crack.
Elise stumbled, clutching her cheek, her eyes wide with fear. Agatha's voice was low, dripping with menace. "Now, now, girl, no need to run. I promise we'll have a good, painful time together."
