September 7, 2xxx - Izumi Pov.
"Girls, these are Maki and Mai, my new fiancées," I said as I introduced the girls to the twins after class. "Maki, Mai, these are my other fiancées—well, my wife and fiancées. This is Taylor, she's my wife. Ruby, Azula, and Darkness are my fiancées. Miorine Rembran is missing, and then there are two other girls I'm seeing."
"Tanya and Viktoriya, I'll introduce you to them later. They couldn't come because they had to attend a meeting about their internships, and... that's about it, I think. Although... there's also Jinx, with whom we're in a fake relationship just to annoy her family, or something like that. I think the reason has changed a lot since the beginning, and that's all." I said proudly as I introduced them.
"So, including us, there are 10 girls, including a wife?" Maki asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Wow... when you put it like that, there are too many of us." Ruby murmured, confused.
"And the idiot will probably add several more," Azula snorted mockingly.
"10 girls? Can you really handle that? " Mai mocked as she crossed her arms, my eyes flashing brightly.
"Of course!" I said happily. "...I hope so." I said with a grimace. Honestly, I didn't expect all this to grow so fast. A year ago, I was only with Taylor for months; it seems like getting into UA was some kind of trigger, and more girls keep joining.
I made a mental face, yeah… I'd better try to stop adding people, as much as the idea of being married to 10 women, well 9, is attractive, just thinking about managing such a thing makes me shudder.
"And that would be all the presentations!" I said while clapping my hands to get those thoughts out.
"A pleasure to meet you all," Taylor said as she nodded. The group began greeting each other for the next few minutes, until we finally got to the point.
"Now, Maki will train in Total Concentration breathing. We will train in the morning before breakfast since it is the only free time I will have in the short term."
"Mai is different, she won't be training." I said cheerfully.
"Is it not necessary to do it?" Mai asked, blinking, almost sighing with relief.
"Your situation is different. It's very unlikely you'll be able to fight like you have been. You'll spend more time in your other form than anything else. Besides, the technique requires you to breathe, and well... I highly doubt you can breathe. It's better if you focus on something else, like your aura or your quirk." I said playfully. Mai opened her mouth before closing it.
"Another way?" Taylor asked, confused. I looked at Mai; she just shrugged before transforming into her katana form and appearing in my hand.
"As you can see, Mai is-"
"Oh my gosh! She has a weapon quirk! " Ruby squealed excitedly as she appeared next to Mai, who was bowing as she looked at the sword. "My brother Soul can turn into a scythe! Only Uncle Qrow, his father, can wield him in our family, which was a complete disappointment since he's beautiful!"
"The edge has a pointed shape and its edge is completely red, just like her eyes! You are beautiful too! A fairly traditional katana! Look at the threads of her Tsuka 's braiding, it's the same color as her hair, it has a straight and smooth pattern on its blade, how sharp is it?"
"Soul is really sharp, especially when it's handled by Uncle Qrow or Maka, his Meister, Gasp! You're her Meister, Izumi!? This is amazing! And I'm so jealous once again! But it would be very interesting; we can run some tests to see how it compares to the Meito models we have available!"
"I think I could— " Ruby was finally silenced when Taylor hit Ruby on the head, stopping her. Ruby took a deep breath for the first time since she started talking.
"Excuse her, weapons are her passion," Taylor said with a sigh as he dragged Ruby back.
"B-but-" Ruby tried to say while pouting.
"Oh, don't worry, that was interesting, I'm already enjoying being here," Maki said with a wide smile.
"Speak for yourself, I felt like she wanted to dissect me and I don't even know if I can be dissected in this form." Mai said dryly, I chuckled as Mai reverted to her human form while shuddering.
"To answer one of Ruby's questions, yes, I am her Meister, officially registered. Mai will be transferring to UA in the next few days and will be doing practical exercises with us as my weapon," I explained quickly. Ruby squealed with excitement.
"And your other swords? Will you continue using them? " Azula asked curiously. I was about to nod, but I looked at Mai curiously; she shrugged.
"You use three swords, I didn't expect to be your only weapon, but I'll take preference." Mai said easily, and I nodded.
"Well, anyway, my three-sword style is the strongest and most destructive. It's not something I use very often; I usually use one-sword styles, or sometimes two." I said honestly, and Mai nodded.
"Okay," Mai said simply.
"This is amazing!" Ruby said happily again.
"Okay, now, before training, I have to make a call." I said with a grimace as I pulled out the small card with the number written on it.
"Mirko?" Azula asked curiously, I nodded.
"Okay, I'll let you two get to know each other for a few minutes, I'll be right back." I said as I pulled out my scroll and walked away. I ignored the girls' discomfort and simply dialed the number.
I hesitated for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and starting the call. I put the Scroll to my ear as I listened to the ringtone. I waited for what felt like an eternity until someone finally answered.
"Mirko speaking, who the hell are you and how did you get this number?!" growled a woman's voice from the other side of the Scroll.
"Hello, I'm Izumi Miyamu-"
"I didn't ask you who you are." Her voice interrupted me with a growl, I blinked several times… yes… she had.
"I'm a UA student, I would like to -"
"UA? Why is a UA student calling me? " She interrupted again. I almost sighed wearily; I could feel my eye twitching.
"I'd like to do an internship with you." I said directly before she interrupted me again.
"An internship?! I don't accept students! Don't call again !"
"I'm Ryuma's grandson." I interrupted her with a grimace. The Scroll went silent.
"And what do I care?" Mirko asked mockingly. "If that's all you have to say—"
"I am capable of defeating you." I said again, now the silence was more solemn than before.
"Oh?" Mirko said, sounding more excited than anything else. "You've got guts, Ryuma's grandson. Well, you have my attention. I'll send you my address. Come tomorrow, don't keep me waiting, and I hope, for your sake and the sake of your bones, that you'll be able to back up those words." Mirko said, and even through the scroll, I could tell she was grinning wildly. The flame went out, and I sighed wearily.
That was actually more tiring than I expected, and it was just a short conversation. There was nothing wrong with being completely direct, as she usually is, but when it came to asking for a job, it felt too awkward. At least it confirmed what I expected: she didn't care in the slightest that I'm Ryuma's grandson, so we'll see how this turns out.
"I'm back." I said after approaching the group once more.
"How did it go?" Ruby and Mai asked at the same time, the former sounding anxious.
"I still have no idea, I'll meet with her tomorrow," I said with a sigh. The group nodded. "Very well, as I said, I'll train Maki. You can do whatever you want," I told my fiancées. They nodded and quickly said their goodbyes. Mai stayed behind and walked slightly away.
During the next few hours, I taught Maki the fundamentals and basics of total concentration breathing, until it was time to go back. I still had a punishment to serve and Mai had to talk to Midnight about her new housing.
Maki simply stayed to continue training.
We walked slowly to the dormitories, following the aura of the other members of Class 1-A who were already there, and finally arrived. Midnight was already waiting for us; he had a quick chat with Mai before giving her the key to one of the free rooms and letting her go.
Finally, we went inside. My eyes scanned the common rooms, taking in who was there. They immediately landed on Yaoyorozu and Jirou, who were talking at one of the tables with some books on it. My eyes sparkled slightly as an idea popped into my head. I told Mai I should focus on it, right? I suppose there was no problem asking her.
"Yaoyorozu! Just who I was looking for! " I said happily as I approached Yaoyorozu and Jirou, with Mai trailing behind.
"Miyamura? Did you need something? And... who is she?" Yaoyorozu asked curiously as she looked at Mai.
"This is Mai Zenin, my fiancée. I'll explain later, but she'll be staying in one of the spare dorms upstairs." I said, introducing her before looking at Mai. "And these are Momo Yaoyorozu and Kyoka Jirou, my classmates." I told Mai.
"Oh... your aunt." Jirou said dryly. Mai shuddered.
"Don't put it that way, I'm only a year older than Miyamura." Mai grumbled with a grimace, Jirou just snorted amusedly.
"How's it feel to be engaged to your nephew?" Jirou teased. Mai glared at her. "I think Miyamura said something like... Wincest?" Jirou grinned broadly. Mai's eyes widened and she looked at me; I just smiled proudly.
"I got twins! My goal is to be with both of them at the same time! " I said without any shame.
""Miyamura!!"" Mai and Yaoyorozu shrieked, the former almost horrified and pale, while the latter blushed completely. Jirou just snorted amusedly.
"Pervert, whoever said men are calm and innocent never met you," Jirou said dryly. My eyes sparkled with amusement.
"Thank you, I love breaking people's expectations," I said playfully.
"Can we get to the point?" Yaoyorozu interjected, composing herself.
"Okay, well, as you remember, Mai is my aunt—" "Stop mentioning that!" "You do remember I also mentioned her quirk, right? " I asked curiously, ignoring Mai's shout. Yaoyorozu nodded.
"You said she was—" Yaoyorozu stopped carefully and looked cautiously at Mai. "—an inferior version of me." Yaoyorozu said carefully. "And you also said that because of me she—"
"It wasn't your fault," Mai interrupted, clicking her tongue. "The way the Zenin treated me would have been the same or worse whether you existed or not," Mai said emotionlessly. Yaoyorozu made a face.
"Even so..." Yaoyorozu murmured.
"Okay, putting that aside, like you said, her quirk is a weaker version of yours—well, a little different, but still close enough—and I wanted to ask if you'd have some time to help us out. Hers is terribly inefficient, 'energy-wise,' while yours is the epitome of efficiency. Maybe we could find a middle ground to help her or something," I said with a grimace.
"My quirk isn't that efficient," Yaoyorozu said, slightly blushing. Jirou and I sighed loudly.
"Yaoyorozu, with all due respect, your quirk constantly violates the law of conservation of mass. Your quirk may consume lipids to function, but it's definitely not a 1:1 ratio. I've seen you create objects weighing dozens of kilograms with ease and barely lose a few grams." I said dryly. Yaoyorozu pouted.
"When you put it that way," Yaoyorozu said shyly. "Alright, I'll do it. I don't know how much help I can offer, but I'm happy to help others," Yaoyorozu said with a broad smile.
"Without any compensation, Miyamura?" Jirou teased playfully, Yaoyorozu's eyes widening.
"No compensation is necessary! I'm really happy to help! " Yaoyorozu said quickly.
"I'm just kidding, Yaomomo." Jirou said playfully, and I hummed along as I thought.
"Well, I don't see why we can't do it as an exchange." I said as a smile began to grow slightly.
"An... exchange? You want to teach me how to use a sword? " Yaoyorozu asked, confused.
"Not really, teaching you how to use a sword would be stupid." I said dismissively.
"Don't you think she can?" Jirou asked defensively.
"Oh no, I never said that. I just said it's stupid. My sword styles require a lot of training, effort, and dedication. Yaoyorozu would focus too much on it; it would be detrimental to her. Her quirk is too versatile; she can adapt to any situation. It would be foolish for her to focus on using only one sword." I said without hesitation, and Yaoyorozu blushed slightly.
"So, what did you have planned?" Yaoyorozu asked, coughing as she recovered. I smiled expectantly.
"Come on, let's go outside. We need some space." I said to the three girls as I started to leave the dorms. The girls followed me without hesitation. Once we were outside, I looked at Yaoyorozu. "Can you create water?" I asked curiously. Yaoyorozu seemed confused, but she nodded.
"Of course, it's one of the easiest substances to create," Yaoyorozu said without hesitation, and I nodded.
"Okay, make a bucket and some water." I ordered her. Yaoyorozu still seemed confused, but she nodded, made a bucket and immediately filled it with water, then stepped back and looked at me curiously.
I just smiled as I crouched down next to the bucket and submerged both hands. I began to manipulate the aura in my hands, creating a ball between them and scooping up a large amount of water before lifting it up.
My aura held a small sphere in my hands, slightly larger than a baseball, filled with water. I slowly stood up.
"The trick is to be able to hold the water in a sphere of aura and then compress it to its limit." I said as I began to force the aura to compress the aura, more and more, the sphere continued to shrink as the water was compressed more and more, to the point that it seemed to violate the laws of normal physics.
Finally, a small sphere the size of a marble remained. I left it in plain sight for the others to see before crushing it between my palms.
"Once the water is compressed to the limit, you squeeze it between your palms, aim, and open the aura sphere at the indicated point so that the water comes out in a single spot, and then you let the pressure do the rest." I explained the last part, extending my hands forward, where there was absolutely nothing and no one.
Then let the water flow. The immense pressure caused the water to be expelled with terrifying speed and force, enough to instantly break the sound barrier. The piercing water shot dozens of meters away before stopping and falling harmlessly to the ground.
I let the rest of the water in my hands fall to the ground and shook my hands.
"Something like that." I said with a smile before looking at the three girls, who were staring at me incredulously.
"No, no, no, no, you can't just come here and make something like that up out of thin air! That's ridiculous, even for you! " Jirou exclaimed incredulously. I just snorted amusedly.
"It didn't come out of nowhere, as you know. I have summons with different abilities; one of them is an elephant capable of creating water, but it can only create water. Lots of water. If I'm in a closed room, I could easily flood it, or I could use it as a high-pressure jet, like a water hose the police sometimes use for crowd control. But after that? Very few uses."
"I was looking for a way to circulate my aura along with the water over my sword to increase its strength, but I still can't quite figure it out, but I was able to create something like this." I said playfully.
"You... you really want to teach me how to do something like that? Do you think I can do it? " Yaoyorozu asked, surprised. I nodded.
"Yes, well, it will be a little different. I can do it faster, and you'll have to do the same if you want to use it in a fight. You have to create water in your palms and start from there. We can work out the details as we experiment."
"And what if I think you can't? Of course you can, you're one of the best in our class at aura manipulation. It might take some time since it's very different from passively using aura to defend yourself or simply using it to attack, but you'll get there," I said confidently. Yaoyorozu looked at me in surprise.
"Oh." Yaoyorozu said, blushing slightly.
"Back off, Miyamura, the only thing left is for you to make our class vice president fall in love with you." Jirou said mockingly. Yaoyorozu blushed deeply.
"I'm not falling in love!" Yaoyorozu squealed in embarrassment.
"Now I'm offended, am I not handsome enough?" I asked, sounding hurt.
"No! You're handsome! " Yaoyorozu squealed immediately before hitting her mouth with her hand and blushing even more, Jirou and I smiled broadly.
"You're bad." Yaoyorozu grumbled, and we laughed.
"Well, putting that aside, the theory is easy, just try what I showed you. If you have any problems, come talk to me." I said quickly, and Yaoyorozu nodded. "So, is that enough?" I asked Jirou with a smile. She just snorted dryly.
"It is, for now," Jirou said dryly. I chuckled. " But by the way, wouldn't that be much more tiring for Yaomomo ? I mean, manipulating aura to force the water to that point? I'm sure she can create something that can do the same thing without much trouble," Jirou asked, and I hummed.
"Hmm, really, not that much? If it's done correctly, it shouldn't use up much aura. In the end, it's Yaoyorozu's decision whether she wants to use it or not," I said, shrugging.
"I... I'll try." Yaoyorozu said with a shaky smile. "It's really not something I'm capable of doing, and the fact that you showed me is... well, nice. I'll learn it." Yaoyorozu said seriously. I sighed.
"If you see it as a problem, you don't need to force yourself to use it." I said dryly. Yaoyorozu shook her head while smiling.
"Don't worry, I won't." She said, and I just nodded.
"Alright then, Yaoyorozu, I'm leaving my dear fiancée in your hands. I still have a punishment to fulfill! And today it's Jirou's room's turn. I'm looking forward to seeing what I'll find there! " I said cheerfully before turning around and running to the dormitory.
"No! Wait, Miyamura! You can't come into my room! " Jirou shouted as she started running after me trying to catch me, I burst out laughing.
"Is there something you want to hide, Jirou?! Something that no one can see? " I mocked her.
"Don't you dare!" Jirou said, sounding embarrassed. I laughed again as I went upstairs. Now, let's see if I can guess which room is Jirou's before she catches up.
