Jinx Pov.
"Izumi, this is my mother, Silvia." I said in Izumi's direction as I introduced Mom. I could see Izumi staring at Mom with extreme curiosity as if he was trying to find something in her. "Mom, this is Izumi Miyamura, my classmate, and my boyfriend." I said without stuttering.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am," Izumi said with a charming smile as he held out his hands. Mom looked at Izumi's hand, specifically his nails, and raised an eyebrow at me. I just shrugged. Mom took the hand and squeezed it firmly.
"It's a pleasure to meet my daughter's boyfriend, whom she curiously never mentions," Mom said almost questioningly, making a face while Izumi just laughed.
"Yes, because I wanted to avoid exactly this as long as possible." I said quickly before Izumi could speak.
"Nice to meet you, ma'am," Izumi repeated with a smile.
"Please, just Silvia," Mom said as she separated her hands.
"Silvia, then, please Izumi, only." Izumi said, and I sighed. Before they could continue talking, I dragged Izumi towards my sister and sister-in-law.
"You've already met her, so there's no introduction," I said, pointing at Caitlyn. Izumi's eyes sparkled slightly.
"Ah, yes, Lady HatLady, Sheriff Cupcake of Piltover." Izumi said, amusingly as he reached out, my eyes sparkled with amusement as a smile grew on my face. Caitlyn just groaned.
"Caitlyn Kiramman, just… Caitlyn, please." Caitlyn begged as she shook Izumi's hand.
"I'm not promising anything," Izumi said before looking at the last person she was about to introduce when Vi stepped forward.
"I'm Vi." Vi said as she crossed her arms with a stony expression. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay… hello Vi." Izumi said, waving his hand in greeting. "What is your relationship with Jinx?" Izumi asked innocently. I covered my smile with my hand as I watched Vi's expression crumble so quickly.
"I'm her sister," Vi said immediately. Izumi's eyes widened, and he gasped audibly.
"You have a sister?" Izumi asked in my direction, surprised. "You never mentioned her," he added sharply. I could see Vi stagger slightly as if she'd been hit. I shrugged with a wide smile.
"I had nothing to say about her," I said simply. Vi let out a pitiful moan.
"Jinx… please. Don't upset my wife. I heard you mention Vi in front of your boyfriend, and please don't force your boyfriend to play along," Caitlyn said, massaging her temple. I laughed lightly.
"Ah! That's Vi!" Izumi said without missing a beat with the same smile. "Fat Hands!" Izumi chirped. I snorted loudly and looked at him in disbelief.
"Don't call me that!" Vi snapped, embarrassed. "Powder! Can you stop mentioning that to everyone?!" Vi added, embarrassed.
"Hey, don't look at me like that this time. I never told him about that nickname." I immediately defended myself before smiling mockingly at her. "There must be some reason if we ended up with the same nickname, right?" I asked cheerfully.
"My hands aren't fat!" Vi defended herself, slightly blushing.
"Are you sure?" Izumi asked, raising his hand. It was a slender, rather masculine hand. He had long, slender, and rather attractive fingers. His skin looked flawless; he didn't have a single callus or mark on his hand.
It almost belied the idea that Izumi could lift tons with those hands, or that he could punch someone flying with a single fist, or that he could wield a sword with such skill that it would take decades to master. Really, Izumi's body was terribly unfair.
Ignore that and look at Izumi looking at his hands before looking at Vi's hands, hands that were the complete opposite of her own hands, and were bigger than his.
"They're not fat!" Vi said, embarrassed, hiding her hands behind her back.
"They're not, I love your hands," Caitlyn said softly with a smile as she grabbed Vi's hands. I faked a gag.
"Too much information," I said with disgust.
"Not like that!" Caitlyn exclaimed, embarrassed. I just laughed lightly. Vi just sighed tiredly.
"I mean, fat hands aren't necessarily bad for... certain activities," Izumi said, waggling his eyebrows playfully. I snorted loudly, and Caitlyn and Vi blushed slightly.
"Okay, enough! Please don't follow Jinx's example!" Caitlyn pleaded, embarrassed.
"Please, she didn't have to do anything, I live to eat chocolate and cause chaos, and I ran out of chocolate," Izumi said with a wide smile.
"Oh, right, that reminds me." I reached into one of my pockets and pulled out a chocolate bar. "Here." I said simply as I tossed the bar to Izumi.
Izumi grabbed it, confused, and looked at it for a few seconds. I almost winced at Izumi's lack of reaction. I... did I get the wrong chocolate? I'm- oh, Izumi started to smile widely.
"Thanks, Jinx," Izumi said with a massive smile before coming over and kissing me on the cheek. I froze slightly before blushing.
"Don't make it weird, it's just chocolate, you mentioned you liked it, that's all," I said simply while crossing my arms and looking away.
Just in time to see Mom and Caitlyn grinning broadly while Vi looked at me like a stranger. I blushed again.
"Okay! Let's get going. We have to get to the restaurant Mom picked out!" I said louder than I should have. That made Mom and Caitlyn laugh, but they didn't argue. I clicked my tongue.
"Alright! Let's eat, I'm hungry!" Izumi said happily as he ate the chocolate bar with one hand and wrapped his free arm around mine like it was nothing. Right, I don't have to let it go to waste. I could feel my cheeks heating up once again, but I didn't say anything.
The moment we started walking, I slowed down along with Izumi. I let Mom lead the way, with Vi and Caitlyn trailing behind her. Once we were a few steps behind the trio, I approached Izumi.
"Thanks for this." I mumbled low enough so only Izumi could hear.
"And miss all this fun?" Izumi asked playfully. I snorted.
"Well, I forgot your alignment was Chaos." I said mockingly, Izumi's eyes glittered.
"And you should remember that. I have a reputation to uphold," Izumi said simply. "Besides, you gave me chocolate, that's enough." he said, taking another bite of the bar. I rolled my eyes.
"How low is your price," I said dryly with a smile. Izumi gasped, falsely offended.
"Are you calling me cheap?!" he exclaimed, offended. I looked at him mockingly.
"I'm sure anyone can convince you to follow them if they have chocolate," I said mockingly. "I'd even say they could kidnap you if they offered you some." I punched him in the shoulder playfully.
Izumi didn't answer, I could see him blush slightly and look away. Wait— my eyes widened as I realized the implication before I let out a hearty laugh.
"Oh goddess, did they really kidnap you while bribing you with chocolate?!" I squealed with joy, and Izumi blushed even more.
"I don't want to talk about it," he said evasively. I burst out laughing.
"Oh, no, no, no, now you have to talk about it now." I insist playfully. Izumi pouted.
"Well, I was 8!" Izumi complained, embarrassed. "I got lost again and ended up in a park. I don't even know how I got there. So I decided to sit and wait a while until Mom found me, or else I'd find a heroine to lend me her phone."
"So, at that moment, one of those street vendors comes up with a cart full of candy, and I say, well, they have chocolate, I have money, I can wait eating chocolate," Izumi said as if it were obvious.
"And it didn't even seem suspicious to you?" I asked incredulously.
"I mean... in hindsight, maybe? The woman selling the stuff had a hat and a completely black mask on to hide her face," Izumi said timidly. I snorted loudly. "Which at the time didn't matter to me. I just bought some chocolate and started eating it."
"Turns out they were tampered with, and I passed out. When I woke up, I was locked in a room with two other boys my age." Izumi said simply, my eyes widening slightly.
"Okay, now that's worrying," I said simply. Izumi shrugged.
"A little? Drugs and poisons don't work very well on me. My metabolism is high, and my blood runs fast. It spreads throughout the body quickly and is eliminated even faster. I couldn't have been unconscious for even 15 minutes. So they didn't even expect me to wake up at that moment."
"I simply grabbed a nearby piece of wood, used it as a sword, broke the door, beat up the unsuspecting kidnappers, broke a few of their bones, stole their phone, called the police, and then called Mom to come pick me up somewhere nearby."
"There was a news report and everything about what happened. Apparently, the kidnappers were pretty famous and were able to take down an entire child trafficking operation because of it, but they never knew I was involved. I just went back home." Izumi said easily.
I looked at him incredulously as if he was joking, but I knew Izumi wouldn't be someone who would just make something like that up, I just burst out laughing.
"Just you." I said mockingly, and I chuckled. I could see the others, especially Vi, glance over their shoulders in our direction several times, but I ignored it.
We continued talking in low voices to ourselves for a few minutes until we finally stopped. I blinked for a few seconds as I looked around the place; this didn't look like something Mom would choose.
Normally, it would be something more elegant, but the restaurant seemed pretty average. I could smell the meat inside, but it didn't seem like some kind of barbecue, just a family restaurant.
"That's weird, I almost thought we'd go somewhere fancier," Vi said dryly, also having noticed Mom's choice. Mom didn't even deign to answer; she just walked right in, and we followed suit.
"Welcome, do you have a reservation?" asked the woman who greeted us with a plastic smile. The waitress opened her eyes slightly when she saw Izumi, and her smile became more suggestive as she looked at him.
"Yes, Silvia's name, table for five," Mom interrupted. The waitress looked away, glancing at the list and smiling wider when she found the reservation.
"Perfect, this way please," the waitress chirped, quickly leading us to a circular table large enough for all of us.
Vi was the first to approach and opened a chair for Caitlyn, who smiled charmingly as she thanked her lovingly. I grimaced, remembering Izumi in my arms, let go, and quickly imitated Vi, opening one of the chairs. I wasn't going to let Vi beat me to it.
Izumi looked at me amusedly, seemingly realizing exactly what had just happened. I blushed slightly and just glared at him. Izumi laughed, leaned closer, and kissed the corner of my lips as he sat down.
"Thank you, dear," Izumi mocked, taking a seat. My eyes widened slightly, and I was mildly surprised until Vi cleared her throat. She had a huge, mocking smile on her face. I simply groaned and slumped back in my seat, making no contact with anyone.
I put my hand under the table and pinched Izumi's hip. The plan was to annoy Vi, not me. Izumi barely reacted to that. Mom was the last to sit down, unfazed.
"Good morning, can I get you something to drink to start?" the waitress asked, approaching with a wide smile. She had positioned herself on Izumi's other side and leaned in slightly, her gaze fixed on him, specifically on his chest, where his almost loose shirt left quite a bit of exposure. I frowned and gritted my teeth.
Mom slammed the menu shut, making the waitress jump, who quickly looked at her. Mom stared at the waitress. Typically, Mom's eyes were bottle green, but when she activated her quirk, her left eye turned orange.
A bright, toxic orange that was unsettling to look at and made almost everyone who stared at it uncomfortable, and the waitress was no exception.
"Red wine, please," Mom said firmly.
"Gin and tonic, with just one slice of cucumber, nothing else," Caitlyn said just as firmly.
"Whiskey, no ice. Don't screw it up," Vi added with a frown.
"Do you have anything that sparkles? Or something that comes with a warning? Or maybe something that will kill me… but only a little, so I don't hit you for looking at my boyfriend?" I asked with a broad smile that didn't reach my eyes. The woman paled slightly.
"Water for me, and cola for my girlfriend," Izumi interrupted with an amused smile as he lowered the menu. "Or any soda you have, we're underage to drink," Izumi said calmly.
"Y-yes! Right away!" said the waitress, clumsily grabbing the drink menus and quickly walking away, almost running. Vi and I clicked our tongues at the same time.
"Really? You let her go so easily?" I asked in a low voice. Izumi scoffed.
"Jinx, baby. If I got upset about every person who looked at me, I'd be in trouble with 70% of the population." Izumi mocked amusedly, and I grimaced, because... yeah.
"Even so." I tried to say through gritted teeth. Izumi laughed and placed a hand on my arm.
"Seriously, don't worry, if it had been something worse, I would have done something," Izumi said to reassure me.
"Is there anything worse than looking at you like a piece of meat?" I asked angrily. Izumi shrugged.
"I mean, yeah? I can't do much to stop them from staring unless I do something. For some reason, I kept my hair untied and my glasses prescriptionless." Izumi said easily. I looked at his hair and remembered the classes.
Yes, his hair reaches his chin, and he usually lets it fall, which, along with his glasses, covered most of his features.
"Ah," I said in understanding. Izumi shrugged. "That sounds like a nuisance."
"It's not that it's a problem, really. The only reason I usually do it is because it's annoying to deal with women approaching me," he said, amusedly. "I can sense emotions with my Haki, so most stares don't bother me because I don't really feel anything negative from them other than attraction."
"That haki of yours sounds more and more illegal," I said dryly. Izumi laughed amusedly.
"It is."
"What if you sense someone with bad intentions?" Vi interrupted, frowning. Izumi smiled amusedly.
"Is this an interrogation, Sheriff?" Izumi asked, amusedly.
"We're not in Piltover," Vi said simply. Izumi laughed.
"Well, there's a reason people at my school and the surrounding area are scared of me," Izumi said, winking before removing the elastic band holding his hair back and pulling out a pair of glasses from... somewhere. Oh yeah, his shades.
"Okay, that's a change," Vi said, whistling and looking at Izumi. He simply nodded.
"It is. It's just less drama that way," Izumi said, putting away his glasses and tying his hair back up. It really seemed unfair how different he looked from one perspective to another. But that didn't matter.
"That doesn't matter. Go back to what I said before, it sounds like a story. Tell me!" I said quickly, and Izumi shrugged.
"Nothing exciting this time," Izumi said, laughing lightly. "I made the bad decision to go with him with my hair tied up for the first few years of middle school, and somehow I became sort of the school's 'King Bee,' even though I didn't want to be."
"It was really annoying, so I ignored most of the girls and hung out with the other guys, who made me friends. Well, it turns out that getting attention is also a curse, and the girls started making, shall we say, not-so-positive comments about the other guys."
" Especially some I was really close to, you know how teenagers are, a lot of sexual innuendo and stuff," Izumi said, waving his hand casually. "So I beat them up," he said simply.
"And they didn't punish you or anything?" Caitlyn asked incredulously.
"Punish him? They should reward him and punish the other girls!" I retorted. Izumi just laughed.
"No, they didn't. It's not like I was stupid enough to do it publicly. And after I'd beaten them up, the girls didn't really want to talk, because they'd have to say they were making comments about other guys, or that a guy beat them up."
"Her fragile femininity couldn't withstand that shame," Izumi said mockingly. "And it wasn't just at school. I walked most of the boys home because we lived close by, and well, I'd get lost otherwise, so I'd end up following them, and Mom would wait for me at the end of the walk."
"The adult women would also throw phrases or comments at the boys, so I would also hit them if they went too far, or in some extreme cases, tried anything physical," Izumi said nonchalantly.
"Oooh, I like it." I said playfully. "I guess none of them talked either." I said simply, Izumi scoffed.
"Of course not," Izumi mocked. I laughed lightly just in time as the waitress approached with our drinks. The waitress resisted looking at Izumi directly this time. Even so, my gaze never strayed from her face.
Once she finally finished serving all the drinks, and Mom was satisfied with her wine, the waitress spoke again.
"Have you decided what you're going to order, or do you need a few more minutes?" the waitress asked with a tight smile.
"Yes, we're going to order three entrecotes and 2 of the hamburgers," Izumi said, grabbing the menu.
"Do you have fries?" I asked, sticking close to his shoulder and looking at the menu he was holding. "Get five of those, too."
"Look, they have a cheese option." Izumi pointed to a spot, my eyes shining slightly.
"Better yet, all the fries as long as they are Cheese Fries" I said immediately.
"Oh? There's Teriyaki sauce, please bring some, BBQ sauce too." Izumi said with a smile.
"Good thinking!" I chirped.
" We'll also get a bowl of steamed rice and tsukemono," Izumi said, and my face scrunched up. Tsukemono? Japanese pickled vegetables? I couldn't really put my finger on the restaurant's theme; they just seemed to sell whatever they wanted.
"Pickles?" I asked with a grimace. Izumi scoffed.
"Either you eat the pickles, or I won't use my quirk on your food." Izumi mocked, clicking my tongue.
"Okay, bring the pickles too," I said, pouting.
"That would be all for now," Izumi said with a victorious smile as he put down the menu.
"Of course! We'll bring it to you right away," said the waitress as she took a step back.
"Um! We still have to order," Vi said dryly. The waitress stopped and looked at her in confusion. Vi just raised an eyebrow and started ordering their dishes. Vi alone ordered the same amount as Izumi and I, Mom ordered half as much, and the only one who ordered food like a normal person was Caitlyn.
Which I already knew I'd end up eating a plate or two of Vi's sooner rather than later. We all had active auras, so we needed more energy than civilians, making ordering food at a restaurant a fun experience. The woman seemed almost incredulous at the amount of food we'd ordered.
"They seem to get along well," Caitlyn said, looking at us with a wide smile.
"What are you talking about, Cupcake?" I asked, confused, and Caitlyn shrugged.
"The way you ordered the food for both of you to share, you really get along," Caitlyn said simply. I paused before clicking my tongue and looking away.
"Of course I do, I like Jinx." Izumi said unashamedly.
"Oh? You like it? Even the more chaotic, rebellious side?" Mom asked, narrowing her eyes. I frowned as I looked at her. Izumi scoffed.
"Of course," Izumi said easily.
"So, you don't want her to change?" Mom pressed again, and Izumi blinked in confusion.
"No? Why would I want that?" Izumi asked, confused. "I'm dating Jinx because she's Jinx. She's perfect just the way she is. Changing her would ruin the entire point of dating Jinx." Izumi shrugged.
I looked at him in surprise as my face began to heat up. I could feel myself blushing deeply. I could hear Caitlyn and Mom laughing, but I ignored it.
This was embarrassing.
